Small and quaint. Service was good. Portion sizes are large and the food was good. Would return again if in the area.

Great location, authentic Japanese dining experience, knowledgeable unimposing wait staff. Definitely worthy of a return visit!

Small restaurant, quiet atmosphere where you can hear each other converse. Relatively inexpensive menu. Katsu/egg and sashimi combo excellent as was the udon. Friendly service but a bit slow bringing the food.

I have been here twice last January. First time I was on my own just arrived in NYC from Italy and therefore very tired and looking for a lite bite. It is conventiently located near the Waldorf where I was staying so I just walked in. As soon as I stepped in I thought: this must be good, because the... More

I think there are a few of them around town. We went (3 times in fact) to the Ise on E51st near Lexington. A cosmopolitan mix of diners, authentic Japanese cuisine, comfortable ambience, and all very affordable - what could be improved? Well, the wine lst maybe - it is not extensive, and even then some were unavailable. By contrast,... More

We stumbled into this lovely Japanese restaurant our first night in NY. Food was authentic and delicious, prices were reasonable and the staff was amazing. They were so accommodating and friendly. We had a terrific meal.

The title says it all. Surprisingly good Japanese food in mid-town for surprisingly little money. Our party of three had norimaki, fried oysters, tempura udon, agedashi tofu, unagi rice bowl, some great steamed vegetables, and some wonderfully hardcore green tea ice cream. We escaped for under $100, including a generous tip. Service was pleasant and efficient. We would definitely go... More

ISE has a fantastic selection of lots of varieties of Japanese food - sushi, sashimi, Udon, etc. Service is very good and attentive. The restaurant has a small intimate feel to it; just like many small restaurants in Tokyo.

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
