I decided to try this bakery after it's reviews on here and I was staying close by! First off the lady who served me was absolutely beautiful and welcoming, not sure if she is the owner or manager but you just want to sit down with her and have a coffee! The red velvet cupcake was lovely and for the... More

Stumbled into this place at 11:30 on a Friday and the service was amazing. You'd think for it being so late, they would be annoyed with us or be flat but no - they were super helpful and even provided samples! Banana pudding just as good as Magnolia without the wait, and awesome cupcakes at a good price.

The world's best cupcakes. Golden with chocolate frosting. Devil dog with white frosting. Red velvet. Don't go here if you don't want to eat the best cupcakes in the world. Great sheet cakes for parties too.

The Red Velvet cupcakes are amazing here, vanilla cupcakes are superb, not to mention the banana pudding. I am addicted to their banana pudding!! So delicious. They have a small size in case you want to try and not buy a whole huge container of it. Chocolate cake is also very yummy. Service is quick and friendly - they always... More

My friend and I shared a golden vanilla buttercream cupcake. It didn't look like a professionally baked dessert, and we were very disappointed in its taste. It was a bland, dense cake with generic, overly sweet frosting that was crunchy on the outside (we thought the cupcake had been made a few days before). We each took one bite then... More

My wife and I each had a red velvet cupcake---very moist with an excellent frosting. We laughed because we had to wash our hands after eating because of the crumbs that had adhered to our fingers. The staff was pleasant and served us very quickly. We noticed that they were constantly icing and bringing out new offerings. Unfortunately, we arrived... More

We had planned to stop at Crumbs on the way home after hearing sime great reviews - but they were closed. We found Buttercup just a few blocks from our hotel ans glad we did. The staff was friendly and there were plenty of options left, even at 9:30PM. We ordered the a piece of carrot cake and vanilla cake.... More

We walked by and were seduced by the beautiful cupcakes. Once under their spell, we tasted of the most delicious cupcakes in NYC! To remember the event, we bought a baseball shirt that read: I cupcake New York. The mural on the wall says it all: "Life is uncertain, eat dessert first."

Must find a Buttercup Bake Shop and try the banana pudding. Share it with a friend and have a cupcake too. I personally like the cupcakes here better than Magnolia Bakery. These are more moist. I have the recipe book and have made several things. Definitely one of my favorite places to go in NYC

If you want great cupcakes, this is the place for you. Other places may get all the press but Buttercup is better. The red velvet cupcakes are wonderful.
