Wow

Lovely welcome, our waiter was very knowledge and advised us on which steaks we would like and how to have them cooked. And they were perfect!! Hubby had a sirloin, it was as big as his forearm!! But cooked to perfection! I had mine rare and it melted in my mouth. We had mentioned we were visiting... read more

Being a totally proud carnivore, Sparks earns 5 stars in my book. It is delicious, the servers are so very attentive, and the ambiance takes you back to what a steak house used to be.

When i first ate at Sparks i was wow'd. Everything was great. I had a chance to go back and this time things were not as great. I was especially disappointed that they didnt get the meat cooked to order - a steakhouse of this stature should get its meat right every time. Appetizers were generous and tasty as were... More

Attended a friend's wedding reception in the Hamilton Room. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. The steaks were cooked to perfection and delicious but far too big - one would have easily served 2 people.

It had been years since I ate at Sparks but my expectations were high. The ambience was still the same - old school NYC steakhouse with staff in Tuxedos speaking english with heavy Italian accents. Service was attentive but we definitely had a new waiter - he tried to help with the wine selection but his lack of expertise was... More

We had heard many positive opinions of Sparks, but were disappointed on our visit. The service was poor, inattentive and almost unfriendly throughout the visit. We had perhaps been able to accept the poor service if the food was great, but it was unfortunately not. We had steaks and they were not more than alright. Neither the taste or quality... More

We stopped by here around 10 pm. The restaurant was almost empty. When the last guests left we got the feeling they wanted us to leave, probably to go see the boxing match that was on, eventhough it was not closing yet. This is not proffesional for any establishment. At least considering when your paying almost 50 dollars for one... More

I have been to many NYC steakhouses, and Sparks is the BEST of all of them! First, the money, you are not getting better. Second, the steaks are dry ages, and they are so tender. Many steakhouses use wet age, which is the cheaper way of aging a steak, Wet ages does not breakdown the muscle tissue like dry age,... More

Went here for a few drinks after a meal in a different restaurant. Very pleasant bar with a good selection of drinks. Classic New York Steakhouse.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
