An absolutely stunning place

Fabulous food, gracious service, great location. We had the prix fixe meal during restaurant week, and it was wonderful. Not too pricey for New York, either.

The food was tasty and tasteful. Depth of flavor was stunning and the food combinations creaed a melt in your mouth experience. Coupled together with the hole in the wall/boutique feel, this restaurantis a 10.

Well you can argue with the food, but the service is extremely slow, I had to wait 20-30 min for every part of dinner, do once you are done with starters, wait 20 min to get mains, once done with mains , wait another 20-30 min to get your dessert, which is terrible.

Did not realize it was NYC Restaurant Week, but we could order off the a la carte menu. The service was very good, but the restaurant itself is small and cramped, with very mediocre decoration. The food was okay, certainly nothing to rave about. Had chosen this restaurant after finding that Tamarind had closed one of its sites, and Zagat... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to go to Amma during NY restaurant week and were treated by special preparations from a curated menu. The portions appeared small but were just right once we started eating. We left not overly stuffed but feeling very satisfied. The food was delicious - everything exceeded our expectations. The price was a bit... More

A colleague had recommended I try this place while in NYC on business. I had the trio of non-vegetarian samosas to start. They were nicely prepared and tasted fresh. I then had the trio of southern rices, lamb dhansak, and a naan. The rices were excellent. Loved the subtle flavors. The dhansak was one of the best lamb dishes I've... More

Really fine food and great service. One of the waiters looking after us was Sandeep and he was knowledgeable on wine selection and most welcoming. Highly recommend a visit. It smells so good on entrance!! Always a good sign!!!!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
