We selected this restaurant for a birthday luncheon. We had never been and I am already planning my return. Three of us ordered Borscht, Lobster Roll, Duck Confit, Duck Breast, Transmontanus Caviar (too delicious), Peach Crumb Cake and Apple Tart. Each dish was perfectly prepared and presented. The service by Ignacio was excellent. There is a Boutique and Cafe where... More

My friends and I went to this place for dinner during the Restaurant Week. For this event they ask you to select dishes from their prix-fixe menu. On the menu the price of prix-fixe is listed as $48, but during the Restaurant week they charge you only $38. As with any prix-fixes, you have to pick one item from Appetizers... More

First time tried that place , I didn't recommend to go there at all , regular food at big price . Even the fish was horrible , and after all it's fish restaurant . We were with the baby , they didn't have the high chair for kids and told us we had to put the baby in the reservation... More

We had lunch at Petrossian today, as we usually do during almost every Restaurant week in NYC. This time like during all our previous visits we again experienced the best possible quality of food and service expected from such a reputable and distinct establishment. Appetizers (both caviar and smoked salmon) were outstanding in taste and presentation. Main courses (salmon and... More

I liked this place. We chose from the fixed price menu. Soup & smoked salmon were both good, but in hindsight I wish I had tried the caviar. My steak was tasty but rather thin & overcooked. My companion's pork tenderloin was excellent. Desserts were good, as was the service. And we liked the ambiance there. I'd go back!

We ate here as a part of the Restaurant Week, and were well pleased with most aspects. The potato leek soup was the least successful dish as it was rather thin and tasteless; however, the salmon appetizer was very tasteful. The duck was perfectly prepared and plated as was the Mahi Mahi. Wait staff were attentive and helpful.

At at Petrossian, which is a yearly event last week. We arrived for our restaurant week visit. The Smoked salmon was outstanding. However the "steak" was a tough piece of what seemed like minute steak. Although I asked for medium rare it arrived overcooked. In part it was because the 1/4 inch steak was so small even a short roast... More

The restaurant decor is modern, but with an old world feel. Sparse, white linened tables. Service was attentive without being overwhelming, but not at par with most up-scale NYC restaurant at the price point. The food is not bad for restaurant week, with heavy hitters in the seafood space. However, one look at the full menu (which I considered) will... More

Petrossian is an excellent restaurant, particularly for things like caviar and fish, but the service is dreadful. The atmosphere is old world Russian cafe and a bit gaudy but nice. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, but the hostess set a terrible tone during her seating of our party and throwing menus at us with a grunt. The tuna... More

Petrossian is probably the place for caviar, but we didn't do that - a bit more scratch than we were willing to part with, frankly. Even so, a very nice restaurant, not far from Central Park. Oysters were perfect, but even better were the salmon appetizers, especially the Petrossian salmon sampler. A huge serving of various smoked salmon varieties, with... More
