A complete dining experience

I've been to other 3 star restaurants in France and New York and let's just say that at Per Se, you're not just getting a meal, you're getting a whole dining experience. The menu doesn't change much, but you're paying for a per se experience, which includes a lot of the staples (ie. "Oysters and... read more

In all honesty, that's the only word that comes to my mind to describe the experience. Every course was a work of art to each of the human senses. The wine memorable, and service impeccable. Hands down my best NY experience.

Wow Wow Wow!! Simply the most phenomenal meal I have ever had! Thomas Keller's Per Se is divine! The service is precise and impeccable...The food flirts with your palate, enticing your taste buds to a graceful and sexy orgasmic experience. I am mesmerized and grateful for the journey. The best birthday present thus far!

I can not attest to the current system of "booking", etc; however, I can say that the first time I ate here was 8 years ago and the memory still stands as one of the greatest meals of my life. Some critics have claimed that the location of "Per Se" is dated; however, it is my humble opinion that this... More

This is the type of review where someone reading it can't comprehend the over-the-top gushing and accolade-spewing that everyone who dines here is certain to be guilty of...and happily so. If you have not been, it is an absolute must. And please don't say it's too expensive because I've had far worse for far more. Battling the frigid temps was... More

My 3rd visit and it only gets better here. The best restaurant in NYC. Everyone there know their stuff, worth every penny.

I first went to per se about a year ago and was blown away at that time (my face hurt from smiling so much) and am pleased to say I was not let down at my second visit. What amazing attention to detail. What brilliant artistry of food. I could only dream of coming up with such delicious dishes. Cannot... More

Had dined at sister restaurant, French Laundry, so wasn't sure Per Se could top that experience, but it did. Ambiance is urban, of course, but hip and still fabulous. The food was wonderful ... my only regret was not being able to fully appreciate all the yummy desserts that kept coming and coming!!! The service, of course, was top notch... More

Went for an anniversary dinner. We both ordered from different tasting menus. I thought the vegetarian menu was actually better than the chefs tasting menu. My only negative comment is that there is just way too much food. Towards the last several courses we were already stuffed.

The restaurant is located on the fourth floor of a beautiful mall. The room itself is nice with views of Columbus circle. The food was very good. The dessert was a little bit disappointing compared to the rest of the courses. Good wine selection. A little bit expensive but all in all a pleasant experience.

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
