Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients.

This was the best dining experrience we've had in a while. The food was great, the staff was friendly, everything was exactly as it should be.

We had to wait for a table well beyond our reservation time but that was due to a rain shower that forced the outdoor guests to inside tables, and The Chef himself was overseeing the delays. Once seated, service was excellent as were the snapper and veal dishes. Cherry soup for dessert was unique, but the pistachio ice cream was... More

Was staying in NYC for 48 hours with a friend, and a friend we met up with who is in the industry took us here for lunch over restaurant week. The staff were lovely, and we got a table outside in the lovely outdoor dining area. Menu is beautiful, and the food didn't disappoint. I really loved dessert, and I'm... More

First of all it all turned out ok. The weather is lovely in the city despite how terrible July can be - we know first hand from last year. Ryne insists on wearing shorts whenever possible. He actually wore a short pants suit. I wore shorts with a buttoned downed collared shirt and a jacket. There is a no shorts... More

Well I must say first of all I was impressed with the wait staff. The decor was simple clean lines and I love that! The first course was the shrimp salad... to die for! Then I chose the seared salmon over a sweet succulent corn pudding. You have to taste it to believe it! Next course is what I've named... More

The food here was good, but the terrace is the best part...really lovely place to sit on a summer evening. Had the snapper and the tuna tartare and enjoyed both very much. Also the warm chocolate cake was divine.

We booked a table for 19:15pm in the restaurant, we arrived a wee bit early and were asked to wait as the people at the table were still finishing dessert. It took until 19:45 for us to be seated. We were kept informed a couple of times during our wait and offered a glass of champagne on the house which... More

On Vacation in NYC, and wanted to go here. And we messed up, we made a reservation for 8:00 (we thought pm) and it was made for am. Our fault... BUT they were amazing. They squeezed us in. I was really happy that they were willing to do that, they didn't have to, but they did. Now to the food.... More

My wife and I used to go to Nougatine all the time because the food can be superb. However, this restaurant, both at breakfast and at dinner, often has some of the worst service of any quality restaurant in NY. At times the service even seems a farce. About a month ago, we had breakfast there with my elderly parents.... More

The food is mostly quite special, with a few items less than wonderful . Prix fixe lunch is still a bit expensive. Shrimp salad & calamari were exquisite, as was thyme&vodka "lemonade". Ginger hake & organic chicken were wonderful, but veal milanese a bit disappointing. Our picky daughter had a cheeseburger which was very humdrum, as expected. Chocolate lava cake... More
