Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients.

We spent our 40th wedding anniversary dinner here and it was great. The drinks (although pricey) were delicious and appetizers and dinner terrific. I would come back anytime. We have eaten at Jean Georges many times, but I prefer the more casual Nougatine. Even the bar treats were great.

The food is always unique in its own way - the ambience is pleasant. The wine list is limited for a reasonable priced wine - this can set you back considerably...

Let me start by saying that we have dined many times at Jean Georges and the Bar area Nougatine. It is amazing to me that after 11 or 12 years it is still impossible to snag a dining room table on a Saturday with short notice. I called a few months in advance and wait listed. It was our wedding... More

My wife and I dined at Nougatine at Jean Georges last night. The menu was simple but very intriguing. For an appetizer my wife had the Tuna Tartar ($23). I had the Foie Gras Brule ($22). The waiter selected our wines (two glasses at $21 for one and $18) and paired them perfectly to each appetizer. My wife and I... More

This is an unbelievably good restaurant. The 'standard' menu is anything but - an utterly delicious selection. And then you realise that most of these delicacies are also on the set menu, which is only $38 for 3 courses. This is World Class cuisine at really budget prices. And then there is the selection of wines by the glass. Accompanying... More

We booked a table for Sunday lunch so we could enjoy the view of Central Park and all its Sunday activity - and we weren't disappointed. In addition we were delighted by the (relative) value of the small plates menu ($38). Without wine it would have been one of the cheapest, but best quality, meals we have eaten in New... More

On a sunny New York day with a table close to the window overlooking Central Park, paying $38 for lunch in the annex of one of the world's great restaurants is as close to heaven as most of us will ever get. What' stopping you?

We went with friends who are in the food industry so we were treated pretty well. I enjoyed some plates including a tuna tartare that was very good. We shared a special ravioli—flavorful. For dessert, we each had something different. The plating was artful. My was chocolate focused and wonderful. My only regret was passing it to share, because it... More

Our second visit and we were not disappointed. Food quite tasty and service was excellent. I had the veal Milanese - substantial portion and crispy - perfect. Recommend this one!

Went here for what I thought was brunch (around 10 on a Sunday). It's not clear from the website what hours breakfast vs. brunch are served but we were presented with only breakfast menus and not allowed to order from the brunch menu at all. Breakfast items sounded delicious so we proceeded to order. Eggs were delicious as was potato... More
