Description: Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef...
Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients.

Had my birthday there few years ago

The place is very classy! One of the best restaurants I've ever been at. The food is amazing, we tried (not sure what it's called) kind of testers manu, where they bring you all kinds of small dishes and different kind of drinks/wine to go with it. We were so stuffed and it was amazing! Jean... read more

We enjoyed a late lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was full but we were seated promptly. The noise level was muted enough that conversation was easy. The lunch tasting menu (only choice as I recall) was a very reasonable $38. I was expecting few choices at that price. I was surprised. We chose from 5 appetizers and 8 main plates.... More

An example of how even the very knowledgeable can make less than stellar decisions. Jean George is an important figure on the New York restaurant scene; Nougatine...not so much.

What more can I say? This is a lovely, comfortable restaurant that is supposed to be the more casual version of Jean George, next door. Nevertheless, the food was well prepared and well presented. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The ingredients and preparation were such that I found myself saying, at one point, "So THAT is what chicken is... More

I have been going to Nougatine for Restaurant Week for at least 10 years. When I went to nycgo.com to see if it was on there, it was so I made a reservation. It said Nougatine at Jean Georges. However, I didn't realize that it switched locations and put me outside on the Terrace. Now understand that it is a... More

Ive plenty of times to this restaurants, the food is always good, but its a shame sometimes is better than others, specially for lunch and dinner the food isn't as good as the breakfasts or the brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The Eggs Benedict and the french toast are one of the bests Ive have on the city. I love... More

While on holiday in NYC, my boyfriend and I dined at Nougatine, and it definitely was a great experience. Already booked a month in advance to make sure that we had a reservation. Chose the tasting menu and it was delicious. Beautiful setting and great service.

Jean George is so smart. He is truly the chef I would love to meet one day and I have met my share. Nougatine is bringin back the true meaning of customer service. I dont believe enough places ask if patrons have allergies, but this place does. Everything was great starting with the front squeezing us early birds in, to... More

The people used to be nicer. We had reservations for the terrace and it thought it might rain, called up and asked what happens, and the reservationist said, in a very nasty way, that they'd try to get us a seat indoor but couldn't guarantee it. Waiter was a bit too casual. He did however let us taste a wine... More
