I can say now that I have been here twice and both times had the same sort of experience, a review is appropriate. This place has good food and I would surely return. A twist on classic dishes that turn out well. Good drinks, too. It is noisy, these comments are true. The smallish dining space tries too hard to... More

We were recently here for brunch as a party of 6. Service was good, as always but our meals were a bit curious. Ordered huevos rancheros but there were absolutely no distinguishable features that resembled the traditional dish. It consisted of scrambled eggs, black beans, salsa and a soft flour tortilla wrapped around guacamole garnished with cilantro leaves. Not at... More

Went here before a show with my daughter and a friend-yum! Great atmosphere, and really great menu. We split 2 goat cheese/endive pistachio soufflé , a Ceasar salad, and a fallen chocolate soufflé. I loved this restaurant, and can't wait to go back to NY to eat here!

.... close enough to walk to Broadway Shows for a pre-theatre dinner. Reservations are recommended but mandatory. Food is really, really good - last time I was there I actually took pictures of my appetizer and entree and both tasted delicious. The attentive serving staff are just that, attentive, friendly and helpful. My only negative, which is why I did... More

Friends and I recently visited NYC and closed out our weekend with brunch at 44 & X. It is very conveniently located for Times Square/theater district and Hells Kitchen, obviously. It is a cute space with great atmosphere. The brunch menu looked fantastic and it definitely did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was really really good. We ended up ordering... More

I've been going to this restaurant for years & they are extremely consistent with the quality of their food! Great food, regular & specials. Their desserts are to die for. Service is always pleasant. Though like many city restaurants sometime can be a bit noisy. It is one of my favorite spots to eat out in the city & always... More

Had a reservation, waited to be seated for over 20 minutes, only to be told that our table was given to the owner and now we had to wait for someone to get up. Needless to say, we didn't stick around nor will we return. Other parties were seated as we waited, of course.

We had the opportunity to eat at 44 & X recently and it was a good experience. Both meals (crab cakes and French Toast) were well prepared and the service was attentive without being cloying. Recommended.

Ate here with family on a busy Saturday night - great food esp the lobster taco. Adequate wine list. Noisy and cramped, with a very noisy (?inebriated) family group next to us drowning out any chance of conversation. Would go back at a quieter time!

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
