Heaven in Hell's Kitchen

Lovely restaurant with nice ambience in Hell's Kitchen. The menu is great. We loved the crispy sea bass and the halibut. The side vegetables were perfectly prepared and delicious. Our friend had the hamburger and wasn't too happy because it wasn't hot enough and the fries weren't crispy. We also... read more

Food and the service were both excellent. We had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and roasted chicken. Everyone loved their meals. We also had dessert which was very good. Truly enjoyed the experience.

Upscale, New American Food in Hell's Kitchen. Friendly service by bulky waiters in tight shirts (with "Heaven in Hell" slogan). Food was very good - the Roast Chicken Quesadilla was amazing, the Sea Bass very solid, Souffle tasty. Good wine list, including wine by the glass. Outside seating very pleasant - even if the view of gas station across the... More

It's a charming little brunch place tucked in on a street corner on the edge of Hell's Kitchen area in Manhattan! I made the reservation through Opentable online. The setting and decor is chic and comfortable, the staffs were friendly and we were all very satisfied of the food we ordered! Upon ordering, you will be greeted with complementary basket... More

I have been to 44&X a few times in the last 15 years, and it just doesn't disappoint. We went for brunch on Sunday, and the food was just amazing, the service was excellent and the wine was chilled, what more do you want

Eat here whilst visiting New York @ easter and had a great meal. Service was very friendly and food tasty and good value we thought. We went early and had not booked but it was filling up by the time we left so if you are a later eater you might want to book.

We arrived at 2:40 PM on Sunday and although we were seated, we were told by the hostess that the patio was closed, the kitchen would close in 5 minutes so we had to order quickly and that they were out of 3 items on the menu. We stayed even after that welcome. Our medium burgers took 25 minutes to... More

I cannot describe how much I love this restaurant! The servers always make the experience fun. They have a wonderful cocktail list with a lot of fun twists. The food. Oh the food. I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't love. My favorite is the chicken and waffle but the filet and short ribs also have superb... More

Surrounded by chain restaurants and just mediocre choices, 44 & X stands out as a top choice when going to the theater. Honestly, I would come here any time. The decor is very clean, welcoming, and modern. The waitstaff where t-shirts that say, "Heaven (on the the front) in hell (on the back)." Hilarious. The food was fantastic. There were... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
