Fun for kids

Benihana is not what is used to be in the 80's! The food overall was good, kids menu available, service average, cook at table almost entertaining...but kids had a great time If you are looking for a more enjoyable experience book a table in one of the side rooms. When our clients suggested Benihana for lunch after a near-by spa, I was surprised. I was even more surprised to see every table packed with business people having a great time. They still put on a show that keeps everyone happy and the food is quite tasty - decent quality, if not gourmet. It's also incredibly reasonable and filling if... More

Pretty good place in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Menu is various, food is delicious. One draw back: very loud! I have been to a few Benihana in the US and world and would say, this one is the most expensive. Prices are high, portions are small. But all and all, good!

I have always wanted to go to this type of restaurant and I was not disappointed at all! We went for an early dinner at about 5.30pm as we were eating before going to see a show. It was very quiet and because of this we had a hot plate table and chef to ourselves, which was nice. We were... More

Echo sentiments of poor customer service and having to wait but other reviewers have quite obviously warned ahead so why come on and slate the restaurant when this is obviously the case! Be advised, reservation times are 'indicative' due to the nature of the dining. The fact this place was packed though says it all. Great experience and food slightly... More

Despite reserving a table for 8:15, we had to wait for over an hour to be seated downstairs. Also 2 extra people were crammed onto our table. However, great food and very entertaining. Fantastic service upstairs.

We arrived it was very busy, very popular restaurant. We waited some people more patient than others but worth the wait for a fantastic restaurant. The food was great and the atmosphere relaxed, all the staff that served us were friendly and approachable. The manager approached our table and apologised for the delay and offered us a discount which was... More

I think that our reservations for this restaurant was on the same night as one of the other reviewers that categorised the night as a "Disaster". Our reservations was on the 30th December 2015. Whilst I agree that we were also disappointed, when a staff member announced that a tour bus was going to arrive at the restaurant and all... More

I booked an 8:30 reservation through open table. At 8:37 they told me I would have at least a half hour wait, unacceptable!!! About 30 minutes prior, my family expressed that they wanted to cancel and visit another restaurant. I explained it was New Year's Eve and we needed to honor our reservation. My 12 year old loves hibachi and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
