The best place in NY

My husband and I love Italian cuisine and Il Tinello is the best place to enjoy the Italian food. The atmosphere was so welcomed and the service was perfect. It is certainly a place that we will go back again.

Il Tinello has been open for decades but this was our first. My wife and I together only have four thumbs but that is not enough thumbs up. Five stars - not enough stars. The decor and ambiance can be best described as understated elegance. The wait staff was knowledgeable and attentative. The food was phenomenal. We have had antipasto... More

My first visit to Il Tinello was many years ago and it was my favorite Manhattan restaurant at the time. After my most recent visit, it is still my favorite Manhattan restaurant. The service is exceptional, the food is delicious and innovative and the atmosphere is very inviting. If you want Italian cooking at its best, plan a visit to... More

When traveling on business, I often sit at the bar. You meet the nicest people, and get the best recommendations, from the bar staff. Tonight was certainly no exception to that. Although I've lived in Manhattan, and nearby Westchester County, my 'hood was was Tribeca. As a result, I've not spent much time in Midtown west. This evening I'm here... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the first evening of our stay in Manhattan with a quiet romantic dinner. Fresh filet of Dover sole and Bronzino, served professionally and discrete. The menu was well organized and complimentary dishes Thanks for a wonderful evening and the complimentary liqueurs

Great service. Attentive to every detail. I had the minestrone soup and red snapper. Both were excellent. My chocolate cake with brandy and espresso were delicious. My old fashioned and chardonnay wine were excellent. My family had an excellent time.

Wonderful experience, wine menu is a picture album with actual labels of available bottles, Caesar salad made authentically at your table, top notch service all the way around! Too many details to list with correct grammar, my brain gets so excited it wants to spit it all lout at once. If you yearn for classic white tablecloth service in an... More

I'm so happy that we stumbled upon this place. It is definitely a throwback to the old school Italian restaurants that once flooded New York City. Unfortunately too many of those old school places are gone & have been replaced with big corporate chain restaurants. Anyway, my wife & I could not have been happier after leaving Il Tinello. We... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
