One of the BEST ITALIAN Restaurants in NYC

I like to go to restaurants more than once to make sure the food meets my expectations. I went last week with my husband for the second time and the food and service was just as good as first time. The seafood salad was delicious so the fish stew. The place is beautiful, so we are definitely coming... read more

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. When we entered We were graciously greeted by the door. That's not something one always finds at NYC restaurants. Once we were seated it all just got better. I had the Caesar salad and my husband had clams casino. My salad was so fresh and the dressing was delicious. The... More

We had a wonderful meal in Il Tinello, recommended by our hotel concierge. He did not steer us wrong and we were delighted with our experience. We were greeted at the door by a very professional gentleman who asked us to take a seat at the bar for a few minutes while our table was prepared. We had reservations and... More

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. We took our son to the city for his 13th Birthday and had his birthday dinner at Il Tinello. From the time we walked into the restaurant, they took care of us. They work like a well oiled machine. We felt so taken care of and the attentiveness of the staff is beyond... More

Il Tinello Ristorante provides a fabulous white glove experience -- the ambiance is romantic and feels of old Italy. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. They wheel around a cart of appetizers and desserts that are hard to forgo. Excellent service and food.

Regret haven't been to Il Tinello for quite some time. Still as good as it always was. Old style Italian restaurant with charm and delicious selection of food. Great variety of food fresh and served hot. Both of our meals were tasty from appetizer to dessert. Pastas melted in your mouth. Fish was fresh and cooked just right. Dessert worth... More

Should have known better when there was no menu displayed outside and when we asked the hostess what the wait for a table for 2 would she skirted the issue and tried to take our coats. When the question was repeated she had to seek info from a male colleague who was also pushy. We should have walked away there.... More

Pretentious restaurant posing as authentic, Italian but rude and condescending staff and Maitre D' . Wouldn't answer questions about the wine other than to shout its " the grapes"!. Food displayed on a trolley and no prices.. Ask and the person displaying it scowled.. The special lamb cutlets were not priced and I though what the heck can't be that... More

We only get to New York a couple times a year, but choose Il Tinello whenever possible for dinner. The staff is warm and welcoming. We are never disappointed, fine dining at it's best. The staff manages a perfect balance of attentiveness without hovering. Looking forward to our next visit.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
