Classic New York

We only get to New York a couple times a year, but choose Il Tinello whenever possible for dinner. The staff is warm and welcoming. We are never disappointed, fine dining at it's best. The staff manages a perfect balance of attentiveness without hovering. Looking forward to our next visit.

Liked: excellent Italian food, attentive service.Within walking distance of theaters, but not at all touristy. Disliked: Didn't have time for dessert.A bit pricey, but not unexpectedly so.

Il Tinello is in the heart of everything in NYC W.56th a half block off 5th avenue. Great atmosphere, not noisy, good spacing between tables, very attentive and professional staff. Starting with cocktails, the martini was perfect and the right temperature as were the applets is the ladies had. We skipped soup and appetizers and went straight to the salad... More

This is a great Italian restaurant with outstanding service. The food is authentic northern Italian. We had two specials and one menu item. All were terrific. The desserts and coffee are to die for. I have eaten great Italian in Europe and this is as good.

Went to Il Tinello NYC yesterday for dinner; first seating. We had to ask several times to close the door so the cold air would not blow in. Food was small portions [we had appetizers but really!] and my scallops were not seared, and undercooked. The one shrimp on the plate was good. My fave dessert is tiramisu, and that... More

We were walking by looking for a place for dessert. It was about 9:30. We went in and asked if we could just be seated for dessert. The restaurant was full but they seated us fairly quickly. There were 4 of us and we each ordered something different. Each was amazing. The warm chocolate cake was so good. It was... More

My wife and I had dinner at Il Tinello in early November. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service was attentive, and we enjoyed the dinner. I had not been there for dinner in many years, but it was as good as I remembered it. We had a fish dish for our main course and it was excellent.

This is a favorite to which we often return. It proves over and over that friendly attentive service can accompany well prepared food. Special mention should be made of the barman who is expert in his craft too. We enjoyed a variety of salads as well as more traditional entrees. The restaurant is comfortable, seating spacious, and service unrushed but... More

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
