Have eaten in the skylight many many times over past few years and in all honesty whenever I'm in ny I always head there for breakfast and the occasional evening meal. Food is served promptly and in a friendly manner Staff are always polite and the whole diner has a nice vibe about it Try the buffalo burger!!!.... Excellent Can't... More

My wife and I were looking for a diner for a simple breakfast. We had walked by the Skylight the day before and so decided to give it a shot. It didn't take long for the food to come out, however, the speed was the only thing we were impressed with. The food was very bland. The ham was lukewarm... More

Very nice traditional 24hr american diner as if it came out of a movie (policemen having breakfast, waitresses serving with their apron on, combo menus etc.). Try to be seated in a booth up front for a real experience.

Ordered a fruit salad... fruit was just cantelope and honeydo, and half came out rotten. Waitress aid she couldn't do anything about it. Ordered French toast... basically two pieces of bread with a super-thin veneer of egg - inside as dry bread. Absolutely awful. Stay away

We were looking for a cooked-to-order breakfast rather than simply fast food and we found it. It was only 4 blocks from our hotel and when we got there we could tell it was a winner. The place was immaculate, well lit, and welcoming. Our waiter was super nice (even if I did have to hunt him down for a... More

This was the best breakfast we had during our time in NYC. We chose it purely because of it's close proximity to Macy's where we had planned to spend the day. It was great value for money, and was actually half the price of the breakfast we had the day before in Times Square. There was a lot to chose... More

We had a great breakfast at Skylight. The food was good - not great - good for a diner and excellent for the price. The service was outstanding. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The waitress kept our table clean - even while we ate - and was extremely attentive. Service was fast. I would definitely return.

The Skylight Diner is a fantastic place to visit for all fans of old American diners with real pancakes and serious breakfast as well as the laid-back atmosphere and friendly waitresses. Simple, nice and great value for money.

If waiting 30 minutes in an empty diner for cold french fries and dry burgers is your idea of a good evening this is the place to go. Their fettucini alfredo tastes like used shoes, the sauce was either premade or reheated - grease was puddling up in the bottom of the dish. Will not be going back, suggest to... More

This is the perfect place for Breakfast or brunch. The food comes fast, it tastes great and you get exactly you ask for. The link sausage and the home fries are excellent and much better than I expected.
