Even though crowded was seated quickly at bar area. Ordered lobster mac and cheese and a 1/2 bottle of Brunello di Montelcino. Fabulous pre-Carnegie Hall Concert meal.
We came to the Red Eye Grill with a party of 13 for brunch on a Sunday after making reservations. We arrived when it opened at 11 am and waited at the bar area for approximately 10-15 minutes to be seated. Once seated and the menu was handed to us, prosecco was prompt brought out in champagne glasses for all... More
We have been here several times and find that if you're looking for something intimate this is probably not it BUT it's great for a two or three couples or a group of friends. Usually live piano music in the background and the ambience is just lively and fun. Food is pretty good and somewhat pricey but it's NYC. Steaks... More
I was expecting the food to be excellent, instead it was just OK. The shrimp cocktail was not tasty at all. It was like having shrimps that were cooked without any seasoning. The lump crab cake and shrimp was tasteless as well. Others in my party said the steak and lamp chops were good, but I was not impressed. Will... More
They have remodeled the place. It is very nice. It is across the street from Carnegie Hall, which is nice. The service was good. The food was average and the prices are high, but then again it is New York City. They did close by 11:00 PM.
We went for a post-theatre meal here last week and have no complaints. We had steak with creamed spinach, washed down with Red wine. The piano added to the ambience, the staff were attentive without being invasive and the food was beautifully cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We had dinner there last week-end. The restaurant is convenient to City Center. Convenience is important but more important is the quality of the food and the wait staff. Both were inadequate. The waiter was inattentive and did not get our order right. We had to ask for water, a clean plate, and food that was missing. We were offered... More
Found this for our last night in New York, beautiful steak restaurant with piano and double bass playing, steaks are $49 but they are delightful, service was excellent. Two well lubricated and well-off Yanks found each other to be willing to bore each other whilst everyone else had to listen but that still didn't spoil the occassion, a very romantic... More
Found it near my hotel after taking in a broadway show. It looked inviting. I was offered a seat at the bar and then was promptly forgotten. Having chased down a waitress to order I then waited 25 minutes before I then had to chase up again for my meal. After chasing it appeared immediately. Clearly not a coincidence as... More
We had dinner here before going across the street to attend a concert at Carnegie Hall. The guacamole appetizer was large and as good as I've ever had! My seared "sushi" grade tuna was OK but not spectacular. Other diners were satisfied with their dinners. Service was good but a little over burdened. For example, bread and butter dishes sat... More
