we had read some reviews [ very positive ] and so were looking forward to dinner - but the service was impersonal, slow, and haphazard - had to ask for pepper and ask twice for olive oil for the bread [ which was cold - in a restaurant this expensive bread should always be warm ] - there was a... My grandson, age 14, and I had a lovely meal Sat. night followed by one wonderful slice of Banana Cream Pie which we shared. This pie is to write volumes about. Our waiter was professional, courteous,& knowledgeable. We left with a very pleasant culinary memory. The following afternoon before leaving town we returned to The Redeye to have another piece... Enjoyed a very good business meat at the RedEye Grill. This is a very large and energetic restaurant though with a warm feel to it. The main dining room is large with high ceilings. Made a reservation, showed up on time and were shown to our table immediately. The service overall was excellent from the wait staff to the coat... More

The Redeye has greatly improved since I was last there. Very good new england chowder, and seafood entrees. short ribs were great. sides were very good. Decor is fun, the signature banana cream pie was great, and service was very good. The location, across from Carnegie Hall, is wonderful for theater and symphony and city center, close to Centra Park.

Fourth or fifth visit over a span of 15 years, a meal at Redeye Grill is always a treat. This visit was a business dinner in a private dining room. Therein lies a minor disappointment - that venue precludes enjoying the festive conviviality of the main dining room. In any event, the evening was flawless. Pre-dinner cocktails were followed by... This is a busy restaurant/bar where you do usually require a reservation. Our waiter was a bit stretched for the evening with a lot of tables, but he did offer an after dinner drink as an apology. The seafood is good with huge portions!

I have been here several times with small and large groups. They have a great room for larger groups behind the bar. There has often been a live jazz band when I have come in the evenings. And a few times I have just shown up with a friend and we didn't have to wait long for a table. The... More

We were returning to this restaurant after seven years and it did not disappoint. The service, food, wine and atmosphere is brilliant here. Even if you only pop in for a drink at the bar do so it is buzzing. We are already looking forward to returning, hopefully next year.

My wife and I were there for dinner with two old friends on a Saturday night. My friend and I both had steaks and our wives had seafood and everyone enjoyed their selections. Our waiter was great - he quickly realized that we were in no hurry - and were more interested in visiting than eating.

The bar has great drinks and appetizers if you have had a long lunch and just know you need something before going home. Close to the hotel so only walking and drinking.
