Great Steak

Visited the Redeye Grill with my husband while visiting the city. I must say that when we arrived at the restaurant, I was not in a very good mood. I was tourist tired and hungry. I just wanted something to eat and was not particularly concerned about going to a nice restaurant. I had a petite... read more

Stopped here for lunch and it was so wonderful went back for dinner several days later! Tomato - watermelon salad - incredible. Our friend had soft shell crab - excellent! We went for dinner and the food was again, fabulous. Filet Mignon Oscar - the best I've ever had, sides are made to share & we had wonderful Brussel Sprouts... More

My granddaughter, Sabrina, was honored with an appearance at Carnegie Hall, along with 96 middle school kids, from 39 states. Of course we were thrilled, and went to see her with her mom, Maria, her aunt, uncle and cousin. Her father, unfortunately, was out of town on business. So her uncle (my eldest son) and his beautiful wife, hosted a... More

We Stayed at The Blakely Hotel, two city blocks from the Redeye Grill Restaurant..The hotel staff recommended the Redeye Grill for its Steak and Seafood selections..We chose the Steak, which was one of the best meals we enjoyed while visiting NYC..not inexpensive, but the quality of food was outstanding, the service Top Notch and atmosphere very pleasant with live entertainment... We make it a point to dine at Redeye Grill each time we visit NYC and are never disappointed! Excellent shrimp cocktail appetizer with a delicious, zesty cocktail sauce. Steaks are always top notch. Very nice selection of wines by the glass. Live entertainment is a nice touch - ask to get a table towards the back of the restaurant... More

Service was excellent and our waiter joined in the fun of a group of silly 50+ year old "girls"! Food was very good, a little pricey, but sides serve more than one person, so a group can dine there reasonably. Our meal was topped-off with a huge platter of pink cotton candy! YES, cotton candy! No way you can keep... More

Live entertainment noisy..Every vegetable and sauce a la carte. $10 for French fries? Steaks are delicious, but tuna tartare appetizer was bland..For the price you can do better..

This restaurant was lovely, we sat outside, unfortunately as it is in New York sometimes there was a smell coming from the gutters, but that is not the restaurants fault, the food was delicious and we had a cocktail each that was beautiful as well. The restaurant is across the road from Carnegie Hall. Definately would return.

The room with its high ceilings and bar-tile floor has a great feel to it. We found the food to be good but nothing extraordinary. The service was lacking.

We've been coming here for 15 years now (wow I feel old now!) and it has never disappointed. It's consistent and delicious every time. The service is sometimes slow but never enough so to keep me away. One of my favorites of all time and probably my favorite in NYC. Must Try List: Halibut. Filet. Lobster Truffle Mashed Potatoes. Crab... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
