My wife went to please me, but quickly became a fan of the beautiful atmosphere and personable wait staff. We ordered different choices on the 5-course tasting dinner and began our flavor journey. The wait staff brought out little bites to try in between courses and as stated in other reviews the cheese cart is not to be missed. After... More

Michelin star, indeed. My wife and I each tried different parts of the 5-course tasting dinner. Exquisite food, perfect portion size, and excellent service in an elegant, yet subdued, setting.

From start to finish, this dining experience was first rate. The creativity of the dishes blew us away. The staff was also very accommodating to the gluten free issues of one member in our party, going as far as to bake a gf loaf of bread just for our table! The first course of smoked sturgeon mousse with caviar was... More

My friend and I enjoyed catching up over dinner at Picholine. We were here on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy, so we were able to chat without hearing everyone else's conversations. The staff were friendly and attentive. The Fromager was very knowledgeable and the cheese cart was the special highlight of the night because I love cheese. We... More

Tasting menu well presented and of quality ingredients. Wine list ridiculously expensive (nothing under $100) with pompous french sommelier trying to sell the more expensive bottles and then making veiled negative comments when his wine was not chosen. The numerous wait staff was courteous but mixed. Some really pleasant and others arrogant. Overall good food, fair service and dissapointing wine... More

This was our second visit to this fine restaurant. My wife and I went with a friend prior to attending a performance of the New York City Ballet. The food was excellent; and the restaurant is very good about getting you out the door in time for the performances. I would definitely go there again.

French restaurant with fixed price or tasting menus. We had the 3 course $98 version which was the same price even for vegetarians. Food was fussy with small portions and seemed a throw back to the 80s. We also had the wine selection ($50 each) chosen by the restaurant to accompany our dinner choices. One of my wines was old... Both couples who had dinner there the other night have not been there for quite a while and had only the best remembrances of such excellent food, service and ambience. The only good thing I can say is the bartender is great. When you look at the menu what it says is not what you're going to get so make... More

Excellent meal after a show at the Lincoln Center. I would say top 5 in NYC for sure. Was really stood out however was the Sommelier, made it one of the best ever. I was "stuck" between two wines, one sounded intriguing but we had never tried it before and I didn't recognize much about it. It turned out to... More

Really superb. Understated, quiet, relaxing and a real treasure on the UWS. The Mrs. had the 5 course tasting, and feeling a bit adventurous, and conflicted w/ my last Dr's visit, i simply selected 5 appetizers. Steven, our server, was accommodating and appreciated. Lovely amuse bouche to start, a chives creation, lead into the sea trout cru, fresh, subtle, delectable... More
