Good, fast and cheap

I was looking for some Korean food for lunch. I happened upon this place and decided to try it based on the menu prices. At the front of the restaurant is a buffet priced at $7.50/lb. Further back are heated units containing premade food. I had the spicy pork with white rice and kimchee for $6.50... read more

Warning, if the food on the buffet has something that seems to be tomatoes sauce, don't put it on your plate if you're into spicy food... I tried really spicy food like Mexican and Indian but this was too much... The price is fair for what you can eat but this was the worst meal I had in NYC.

We stopped here to sample Korean food and were not disappointed. There are two options; buy by the pound at the buffet or from the prepackaged items and combinations. You can take out or eat in. The restaurant seating is similar to that at a college cafeteria, clean and well lit. We choose the buffet with the many choices of... More

Everything is great at the lunch buffet. There is a large selection with plenty to choose from. It gets really crowded and sometimes there is a wait but it's worth it. Prices are also very reasonable.

The prices are about on par with all the other Korean food establishments in neighborhood. Not one particular dish stands out, but they pack plenty of flavor. The staff is not very strict on monitoring what you consume. Best to buy your beverage at the CVS or Wallgreen's around the cornera and buy your lunch here. Their pre-packed combo meals... More

This place is super cheap and has a good selection of food at really low prices. It's a great place for breakfast, lunch or a simple dinner. The lunch set is only $6.50 and is enough to fill you up and then some!

After reading all the awesome reviews on this place, I finally stopped by for lunch! I made a first pass through the buffet and picked out about 1 of each item for half the buffet. I considered the stewed tofu and seafood or the kimbap but decided to stick to the buffet for the day. I was a little surprised... More

Woorijip serves tasty, quality Korean food (lunchboxes with rice, kimbap, noodles, soup...) prepacked in boxes to take away. There is also a lunch and dinner buffet with several options, to be paid by weight. The restaurant is clean and the cashiers are friendly. Compared to Western European pricings, the food is incredibly cheap. Come early, because the place may become... More

I am not an expert on Korean food whatsoever but I do got a good palate. This is not much of restaurant it's more like a eat-and-go kind of "deli" that it's mostly used by employees of local businesses. The food is nonetheless good. The buffet is limited which is a good thing because you are not overwhelm with choices.... More

I had a chance to grab a quick lunch here with friends on a recent photo shoot in Manhattan. Being a neophyte to the cuisine, I was carefully coached in my selections. The buffet was diverse and interesting and I enjoyed everything that I chose - especially the vegetables. The meal was inexpensive and fast. The ambience is very plain,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
