Lovely lunch retreat

A really nice lunch spot behind the huge shoe floor of SAKS. Delicious crab cake and lobster salad for me The bread basket is a nice mix including fruit and walnut bread and a pretzel croissant. Speedy service too for those on a short lunch break.

Environment is really relaxing and greeted with high quality of service. What I would recommend is the Lobster Salad and the Halibut. I would definitely go back again for the Lobster Salad.

Look, it's Saks - it's going to be expensive. But, the food is fresh, service is great, and if you can, make a reservation so you can sit overlooking Rockefeller Center. It really is worth it, the food is that good.

Never mind when my wife says lets go shopping at Saks as I know at some point we will stop on the eighth floor for lunch at SFA or just munchies. Either one is always good and the service is above par. My wife had the mandarin chicken salad and I had croque Madame. Wow! Never had a better sandwich... More

Go early in the day and ask for a terrace table. We loved sitting at table 89 in the corner. My husband found himself gazing at the spires of St. Patrick's Cathedral while I was looking at Rockefeller Center. For a giddy, fleeting moment you almost feel as if you own New York. The views are intoxicating. Be sure to... More

Stopped here for a late lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant with a great view if you receive a window table. The service was efficient and friendly. I had a delicious sandwich. Worth a visit!

Enjoyed a very nice lunch break at the cafe in between shopping at Saks. Had a delicious lobster roll with salad, nearly came back just for that another day! Nice cocktails also without alcohol. Pluss to have a kids menu to choose from, the pasta was popular with our little one. Friendly and quick service.

Whenever I go to New York I make sure to save sometime in a shopping day to have a late lunch at SFA. Even though it is located inside the shoe department of Saks, it feels great sitting down at this cafe. The ambiance is calm and is almost an oasis in the bubbling NYC. If you sit in the... More

Went here the first time in January and was so impressed with the absence, the food and the service I'd been waiting to return! While they have a full, lovely menu, the fixed price 21.00 lunch is perfect! In this part of town, finding a nice lunch spot can be challenging if you need to stay near Rock Center. Well,... More

We ate a late light lunch here in the middle of a shopping day. Great salads and sandwiches and the location can't be beat if your wife is in the Saks shoe department.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
