Superb location/experience and good food

I have now had lunch twice at Cipriani Dolci in Grand Central Terminal. The location is truly unique, overlooking the grand arrival hall (which in my view is one of the nicest structures anywhere and a very NYC experience) Perched above all the madness below you can enjoy great Italian food or... read more

Some people in New York used to call-may be still - call the Grand Central Station "the Center of Universe" and I used to ask myself and even some of my friends that what is the possibility of the applicability of this TREMENDOUSLY AMBITIOUS phrase for this place. After two visits to this MAGNIFICENTLY UNIQUE Italian-themed with WORLD-RENOWNED TITLES, ı... More

I eat here every time I visit New York. It has become something of a family tradition to have at least one lunch here while we talk and survey the hustle and bustle of the Main Concourse. The food is not expensive if you choose carefully and the menu is extensive. Alcohol can put the price up but that is... More

It is my pet peeve, but I hate going to a restaurant that should be open--whose website says it is open--only to find that the staff has taken on itself to close up early. Such was the case tonight at Cipriani Dolci. This is not acceptable for a business of this caliber. My colleagues and I were working late and... More

We arrived here with our 6:00 reservation on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. The restaurant is in Grand Central Station and overlooks the main terminal entry area. We came here on a recommendation. Service was good, several waiters attended to us during the evening. It was pretty crowded and the service remained very good. The salad was good... More

The Location in Grand Central is well worth the visit. The food however was underwhelming. The Food wasn't bad by any means but because of the "CIpriani" name I expected much better food and service. We still Had a very nice evening and enjoyed our visit as it was fun dining in the majestic Grand Central terminal.

Lovely cocktails, stunning surrounding, definitely a place for a special holiday cocktail treat, I would recommend the Aperol spritzer

I think the Cipriani brand holds a lot of clout in NYC, and no one would argue that. However this outpost doesn't seem to be remotely related to the brand. I would say the service was quick, efficient and professional; I never had to wait for a drink. But the food left us wondering where we were. We ordered a... More

Great people watching on the mezzanine of Grand Central . We stopped by for dessert and night cap after a jazz dinner. Only complaint, the restrooms are difficult to get to.

So many awesome restaurants in NYC, do yourself a favor and skip this one. Not impressed with the signature Baked Tagliolini with Ham or the Tagliardi with Veal Ragu, which tasted as if the meat was spoiled. The bread basket and Bellinis were just ok.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
