Good vegan food and lots of choice

Good selection of vegan dishes to choose from and reasonably priced. The portions sizes were quite good too but not overbearing. My friend who's never really had vegan food before chose a imitation shrimp and chicken main dish. He asked me to try the 'chicken' as he thought it couldn't be vegan, as... read more

As an omnivore who's been to a few vegan restaurants, I often alter my expectations when I know there's no meat, fish, dairy or egg on the menu. And I generally enjoy the meal, but leave feeling something was missing (the something usually being meat, fish, dairy or egg). I left Franchia only with the feeling that I had a... More

When I come to NY and I want to return to an amazing and healthy restaurant, I think of Franchia. Food is delicious and it's worth it to try a number of dishes of possible, by sharing or however, because they're all so good. Love the tea element too.

We went during a New Years weekend in NY.the restaurant was busy but not frantic and early (6:30) reservations were not hard to get. Our orders arrived promptly but we weren't rushed. The food was excellent and imaginative. We particularly liked a couple of dishes made with avocado. The spicy dishes were a little too spicy for some and came... More

Food was generally excellent. A little heavy on the "fake meats" but so e really good flavors - liked the Peking buns, not so much the spicy wontons.

My girlfriend and I, both vegetarian, decided to eat here during a recent trip to NYC. We were intrigued at first, but we were slightly cautious because we tend to stay away from meat-replacement restaurants that simply substitute tofu/soy for meats, and we saw a number of those items on the menu. We ordered three menu items: spicy kimchi pancakes,... More

Again, one of my favorite places in the world! Wow! Unbelievable food and decor. The curry hot pots are my favorite and the salads melt in your mouth. Love love love everything about this place. My daughter loves the mango drink and the rice dishes. Sitting within the walls of Franchia, can be a perfect experience. The food is incredible,... More

We ended up at Franchia after we couldn’t get a table at Hangawi, their 'sister' restaurant. Convicted carnivores, we were very skeptical as we've never been to a vegan restaurant before. We were blown away by the food! The avocado green curry had the most enchanting fresh aroma infused with lemon grass and lime whilst the soy chicken bibimbap was... More

I have been twice at Franchia, once for Lunch and once for Dinner. Both time it was great. Quick service, excellent food, not too spicy (but could have it as spicy as you want) with a wide array of vegan options sapiently and professionally prepared. For dinner I took a fix full course menu salad+2 appetizers+1main+1dessert+tea for 30USD. Besides being... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
