This was the first Korean restaurant we've been to and it was a very good meal, but I'm not sure I'd return. The bulgogi was good and we also had the pork dolsot bap, which had interesting flavors. They serve a selection of small appetizer plates with dinner, so there's no need to order appetizers if you want to sample... More

We dined here recently as a family. The staff were very accommodating of my daughter's soy allergy. Described the menu selections. This was one of the best meals I have ever had. The staff, entrees, ambiance and price were fantastic.

A very busy place, especially popular with Koreans...a good sign! Get there early to avoid some very long lines. House made tofu is their specialty, very enjoyable appetizer. Fresh tasting. Kimchi really excellent, not the typical canned variety. Mains (we had bulgogi and the tofu hotpot) were well seasoned and plentiful. I really enjoyed all the little side dishes that... More

Great soup, Both the kimchee jigae and the soondubu jigae are tasty, spicy and hot (temperature). Really warming on a cold night. Staff is friendly, but a bit rushed since it was pretty crowded for the dinner rush which is understandable due to the good food and good price for a healthy, filling dinner in Midtown.

We tried this Korean BBQ place because it was right next to our hotel. I wish I would have done some more research and found a place with good reviews. The service was horrible. It took our waiter 15mins to acknowledge us. They never filled our drinks until we asked them to. The food when it came tasted mediocre at... More

Was staying in the area for a few nights and tried five different Korean places. This was by far the worst and the most expensive. Waitress was miserable and slow. Food was not very hot and when I complained and asked if it could be microwaved she said she didn't understand the word microwave. Still I left a 15% tip... More

we've ordered the tofu stew with kimchi and beef but there's only 5 tiny pieces of beef inside. and the tofu are different than any other Korean BBQ restaurant. also they tasted really salty, and only gave a few side orders.

In our appartment in NYC during our stay we were browsing Tripadvisor and other traveling websites for a Korean restaurant and came across Cho Dang Gol. Upon arriving in the restaurant we noticed a lot of asian people (presumably Koreans of course) in the restaurant, which to us can only mean one thing: this place must be good enough otherwise... This restaurant is in Little Korea in NYC with a multitude of choices most of which are fine. This one was full of locals and tourists. The food is excellent, quite authentic in my view. Fairly priced. Lots of small side dishes served in addition to the entree. Can be highly spiced or not as you wish. Meat, fish, vegetarian.... More

the restaurant is ok, if you prefer Korean food. You get more than you order, like a cup of tea, which I didn't like too much. The staff was friendly and concerned. But what we ordered was too special to us. This is not like Thai and Chinese cuisine, so be prepared for new tastes. No big deal to us.... More
