Not Seoul but not bad

Found this place on Yelp while in the city. Always a good sign when as a Westerner you are outnumbered by Asians in an Asian restaurant. Ordered appetizers and entrees r but everything was brought out nearly together and they kept rearranging our table disturbing us several times. Totally ruined the experience, the food was okay but I have had better. Felt they just wanted us out, in and out in just over half an hour! Riidiculous when one is looking forward to a nice meal... All the Dishes ordered were very good - Omelette, HotStone Bibimbap, and the side dishes were good too.

This was a family birthday celebration. We had the distinct advantage of a guest who explained the various dishes (and ordered in Korean). The menu has English descriptions of the dishes as well as a separate laminated folder with pictures of the various dishes. I had some difficulty understanding the server, but pointing to the pictures would have worked if... More

It was cold and snowy and I had a craving for some Korean food. This place hit the spot. Was seated right away and staff was friendly/responsive. Lots of menu options for those who want more traditional Korean fare and also for those who prefer more American friendly Bulgogi, etc. They brought a good selection of appetizers (Kim Chee, etc.)... My SO and I went to this Korean restaurant before we went to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch on broadway. We decided to go to this place because of the good reviews. When we arrived at 6.30p the restaurant was packed and there was a line up. The host (who was very cute), told us that we would have... More

Stumbled upon this little gem whilst walking around. The service and food were excellent. I had not eaten Korean food before so had to ask about some things on the menu. I was given detailed explanation of what I was ordering and from then on it just got better. The dumplings are outstanding and some beef dish I ordered was... More

Many Korean restaurants modify their menus to better suit American tastes. This one is closer to traditional Korean fare. How do I know? Over six years total living there at various times. Also, our hosts were Korean. I particularly liked their pajun. My wife and I both had bibimbop, mine with bulgogi, hers without. Delicious, though it could have been... More

I go to this restaurant when in NYC for their rice bowls and fresh tofu. Totally delicious. The selection of pickled vegi's to start is always good. You can make reservations, which *may* get you in faster. There is usually a line and the older waitresses are all business. They aren't keen on loitering - but as long as you... More

On burgeoning 35th instead of bustling 32nd, this Korea Town cafe is definitely worth trying. Everything just seemed a bit more creative, a bit more caring, a bit more authentic than the dozens of others offering essentially the same menu. Dumplings and homemade tofu were especially good. It's casual, but not as chaotic as some of the 32nd street places.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
