Thought we'd try a Korean restaurant having never eaten in 1 before, so tried here as it was the busiest on the street. 30 minute wait so being Scottish, went for a drink. On returning we looked at the menu not knowing what to order. With the help of the waitress, we ordered some very tasty Asian food.

The atmosphere is very authentic and the food is home style Korean fare. Their kimchi is very good especially in dumplings. The bimambap was a little bland but the bulgogi was well seasoned. Overall a very cool experience

We were told the wait was 15 minutes for a table for 2. After only 10 minutes we were seated. The restaurant was packed and the service was a little slow, but the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable for midtown. I would definitely come back.

I'm no connoisseur of Korean food but I think it would be hard to beat this place for the food. The homemade tofu is excellent but so is the quality of all other ingredients as well as the seasoning. Their short rib stew with rice cake is just yummy and the meat practically falls apart with the touch of a... More

The Hubby and I arrived in NYC on a cold January night and had our first dinner at this place. It positively warmed us-- inside and out! Delicious food, great service-- one of the most authentic Korean food experiences we've ever had. The side dishes were unique-- more vegetables than we've had elsewhere, which is always a bonus for us.... More

I live in a city with a large selection of great Korean restaurants. But when I visited New Jersey/ NYC for 2.5 week, I came to this restaurant not only once or twice, but 4 times! Yes, it's really that good that makes the over one-hour wait worth the efforts. A few of my favourite dishes: - Spicy Galbi Jjim:... More

A pleasantly decorated little spot on 35th Street serving authentically prepared and presented Korean food at reasonable prices, not cheap but fair. We were impressed not just with the quality of the food but also with the outstanding service we received, Our waitress was there to offer us guidance with our choices and then ensure the food arrived promptly. She... More

My wife and I had dinner at Cho Dang Gol on June 15, 2014 while visiting New York City. We love ethnic food, and there were good reviews of the restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was about 75% full when we arrived shortly before 6 PM. We were promptly seated and given a menu.... More

NYC is home to the second largest Korean population outside of the Korean Peninsula, so we expected the food to be good. We also saw the restaurant had been reviewed by the Food Network, so we didn't think we'd be steered wrong. We did have to wait around 30-40 minutes, but it was so worth it! Their kimchi was amazing--my... More
