Korean treat

I was invited to Cho Dang Gol by friends who are regulars there. It was my first experience of Korean food and it was very different from anything else I have had, and very good. I do not eat very spicy food but there was a good selection of dishes on the menu, from very spicy to mildly spicy. I... read more

This seemed a good place to each (perhaps a bit expensive but the portions were huge). The menu was of a reasonable size and the food arrived quickly and was well cooked, We had no sign of the over-charging others mentioned. We would be happy to return

We decided to this place for lunch, since we were staying at the Hilton Garden nearby. They have a few vegetarian options on the menu, which intrigued our interest, so it became a nice dining experience for both of us. The food and service was good, and the portions were just the right size, so this place made for a... More

Another Michelin Bibs, which tells the story. Merely one block away from the Macy's, it is removed from the hustle and bustle and it somehow reflects in their food. This is one of the handful restaurants that make their own tofu from scratch. Consequently the quality and taste is superb. Try anything on the menu w Tofu, you won't be... More

Never been to a Korean restaurant so when in 'Korea town' you give it a go, and this was the busiest restaurant, which I took as a good sign. Good atmosphere, friendly if hurried staff and, interesting food. I can't say it was bad, maybe just not to my liking, some strange spices and strange textures within the food. An... More

The food is average quality but most items are overpriced ($22 for dolsot bibimbap and nothing special about it). Also the waiter came back demanding more tip. Lots of other korean restaurants near by we'll go elsewhere.

The Michelin- bib rated restaurant is conveniently located at half a block from Macy's, and magically away from all the hustling and bustling. The food is descent, with a special touch on TOFU- the house made tofu is a must try. I went for Sunday lunch and was seated immediately, during the weekdays, expect to wait...something worth waiting for.

Amazing food delivered quickly to the table and a lovely buzzy atmosphere! Just watch out for the pickles which they just give you automatically but then charge $18 for!

It was Mother's day, we did not reserve a table but were able to get a table for lunch . Friendly staff. Guests were a good of Korean people and Asian people. We choose 2 dishes (jap chae and beef delsot bap) and dumplings. It came with some small side dishes. Prices are bit high (around $ 21,00 per dish),... More

Found this place on Yelp while in the city. Always a good sign when as a Westerner you are outnumbered by Asians in an Asian restaurant. Started with the dumplings which my adult son liked more than me. We both chose the bibimbap with bulgogi served in a very hot stone bowl. Very good, very filling.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
