We came to Vatan as a party of nine who love vegetarian Indian food. The table was gracious and quiet- the portions more than ample-(only a few of us requested more and it was brought quickly). We loved some of the dishes and liked others but being brought a selection was fun and easy. We were each served an enormous... More

As I entered Vatan Restaurant in NYC for the first time, I was very impressed with the ambience of an Indian village. A lady dressed in traditional Indian attire explained about their food and served us dinner. I recommend visiting this restaurant when you are really hungry. Because they serve a lot of delicious food in a three course meal.... More

Food is served "Thali" style, meaning you get several small portions of a several foods. They serve a 3 course meal thali style, so there is no choice of what you get. It turns out to be a huge meal. If you like Indian food you will love it. The service was very good and the decor was fun. If... More

The Restaurant's look and feel is very Indian/indian village kinds with the idols of Indian god. The ambience is good and the food menu is generally fixed. We ordered some drinks aside from the menu. The food was not that great and plus it was way expensive. You could find much better vegetarian food somehwere else at a better price.... More

Visited here for a family reunion (17 of us). We were lucky to find street parking right in front of the restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful decor and setup. The person at the reception was very welcoming and provided temporary seating till all parties arrived. We were seated on the second floor. The place looks awesome. Everything looks and... More

IF you like Vegan food then this is a place for you. They have an all you can eat plan that gives you so much carbs that you feel stuffed to the gills. Some of the pickles and chilis are HOT Hot Hot so be careful. THey do have beer but if you are a meat eater this is not... More
