Best food I've had in a restraunt

Being Indian, my family makes a lot of Indian food at home, so I know when I've had good food at a restaurant. The food is some of the best Indian food I've ever had. And initially, I wasn't too thrilled about going to an vegetarian restaurant. The décor was very unique and colorful. The experience... read more

One of the most authentic and amazing vegetarian place to eat. If you are a foodie and loves to eat indian food , this is a right place to visit. Entire menu is a delicacy on its own.

Outstanding Indian cuisine with great service. This restaurant utilizes the concept of 'thali'. Fairly common concept to people of South Asian descent. if you are looking for that true authentic experience this place should be high on your list. The restaurant is true to its name, with the plate settings to the ambience every part of it reminds you of... More

By far the best Gujarati thali i've had in the U.S. Also at $32/person, it's the most expensive, but the whole experience of dining in a great atmosphere and ambiance made it worthwhile. The staff were smiling and welcoming. The food was mouthwatering,, starting with appetizer thali complete with 8 different appetizers, followed by the main course thali with veggies,... More

Vatan is one of those NY places you would walk by if you just noticed it on the street, but be sure not to. When you enter this Indian vegetarian establishment, you are transported to a peaceful Indian courtyard (presided over by a giant Ganesh). With a lovely atmosphere, and excellent food, this is restaurant is sure to please. Vatan... More

Had dinner yesterday with a group of 8 other friends. There is an unlimited all you can eat thali or plate option where all of us ran into serious problems of restraint and saying no even when the stomach was full. We are a multi national bunch was this is an achievement. There is a wide variety and you can... More

We are regulars here at Vatan. It is the best Gujrati Thali in New York City and probably the East coast. When I lived in D.C. I would travel all the way to go to Vatan for their delicious unlimited thali. LOVE this place!

Perfect place to enjoy Gujrati home style food. The devote andante cd is in an ideal location in busy manhatten location. The decore is superb. Just loved it. We have been here with family and friends on several occasions.

As a gujarati, I can say this is one of the few restaurants that actually reflects the food we eat at home. Just be aware of the quantity, its a lot of food and feels like a waste so I dont indulge in this too often because I can only eat so much. The decor is quite nice, and the... More

This is a Gujarati style Indian cuisine restaurant. The interior décor is different with picture painted walls, a mock well to draw water and tables in a rural cabin style. Pleasing to the eye. Service was good and waiters were efficient and helpful, offering suggestion in spice levels and such. Food was tasty and delivered without delay. Overall it was... More
