Description: "...Fagiolini's warm decor--amber walls and still-life paintings--provides a handsome showcase for some of Midtown's finest trattoria dishes. Travelers and neighborhood residents have kept this place busy since 1986..." --cuisine.net "...the assertive Penne Arrabbiata with bits of spicy sausage and Calamari Fritti with an incendiary fra diavola sauce are perfect examples of this trattoria's lusty and unpretentious style...the Chicken with Wild Mushrooms is simply catnip for Portobella mushroom lovers. Neighborhood residents, local business people and tourists from area hotels keep this gem humming through lunch and dinner....as if this bustling bistro didn't have enough going for it, most entrees with a salad are in the $10 to $15 range. --The American Express Collection

We were staying nearby and had decided to try this one evening. No booking and the place was jammed, though someone was finishing up and we were seated. 2 guys runnings this little room very efficiently ! keeping it simple. Garlic with a hint of bread was served, only one beer available ( Peroni) and we both had the house... More

My wife and I were staying at the Shelburne on Murray Hill and had eaten at our favorite restaurant from our old Gramercy Neighborhood, Molly's Shebeen that afternoon. As the night went on we realized we had to have something to eat again and trying to avoid the hotel based restaurant , walked up Lex and as my wife stopped... More

I stopped in for dinner and I have to say it wasn't good.....at all. The lasagna had very little flavor. I always thought lasagna couldn't be bad, but whoa. I ended up throwing it away including the bread clearly out of a box/bag. I also order the tiramisu... It was ok. Not the best I've ever had but not as... More

I've been here a few times already, and each time the experience was pretty much the same - a delicious meal, good service, and at a good price for what I got. I love that this place is in one way simple, like a good casual sit-down restaurant, and on another level has a feeling of a more upscale Italian... More

We were hungry and tired and wanted to eat near our hotel. We noticed this place as we walked by and it looked like an interesting and reasonably priced place to eat. It is a little place (we like little places) with a limited Italian menu. We both had spaghetti - one with meatballs and one with meat sauce. Entrees... More

went there for dinner with my spouse on a vacation to New York. all other resturants around were full so we couldnt reserve anything else. a few couples sat there so we thought it would be nice. we ordered a Pizza Margarita and Orecchiette All'ortolano. both dishes came in time, but gave us the impression of being preheated and poorly... Cozy restaurant. Menu consists of a several types of lasagna, as well as some other pasta dishes. We felt it was high end quality food at moderate prices. Favorite was the beef, caramelized onion and wild mushroom lasagna. Amazing. Very good tiramisu as well. Will return.

We went there for a late lunch - and got the lunch offer. The lasagne was nothing out of the ordinary. Probably not microwave. But I am not sure. Friendly waiter.

To begin with when I am served stale hard bread I lose faith in a restaurant fast. The salad was meger at best. Lasagna should have sauce. I was given a thin vertical slice of tasteless pasta sitting in what smelled like hot ketchup. I got my lasagna in a few minutes. I suspect it aicrowave product
