Very enjoyable meal

We went for lunch after a trip up the Empire State Building which is close by. Excellent service. Perfectly tasting food we went for spicy. The set lunch menu was a reasonable $35. Highly recommended are the juices or teas. Well worth a visit.

This is a great vegan/vegetarian Korean restaurant. We loved the seats (at first you think your gonna sit on the floor but then realise there is a footwell. The food was great... We especially liked the appetisers. We will return next time we are in new york

I and my wife love Indian Veg cuisine but my daughter in law persuaded us to try something different. She booked a dinner table for 5 at Hangawi. And what a beautiful experience it turned out to be. Place. Located in midtown Manhattan. You remove your footwear before proceeding to table. You have to squat to get to your seat.... More

We arrived in New York fairly late, and were looking for something hearty but good. Hangawi was different than normal Korean, in that everything's vegan, which suited my vegan wife and me just fine. The ambience was very nice, the service was excellent and the food was extremely high quality. The appetizer was amazing. The main course was very, very... More

This place was so good that during our week vacationing in NY we went there for lunch twice. It was very nice that they ask you to take off your shoes. The atmosphere was very asian like, quiet, and just perfect to have a beautiful meal plus the zen music added a mystical tone to it all. The portions were... More

This place is the worst Korean poser restaurant I've ever been to. It clearly targets people who have no taste buds or concept of Korean. If you feel like eating overpriced food in very small quantities that tastes like dried up shoe sole while sitting on the floor with your ankles and knees in pain, this is the place for... More

I really enjoyed my lychee martini to start, and the house white was also very good. I got the spicy noodles with kale and mushrooms and my friend got the avocado bibimbap. Both were delicious and we didn't leave any behind! Right amount of spice for me- not too hot and the cool noodles were nice with the hot weather.... More

I loved this whole experience. I've never really eaten Korean food but needed a vegetarian restaurant for a client (this is Vegan). I found this on Yelp. I didn't know what to expect but was amazed the entire time. The hostess takes your shoes upon arrival and you dine on mats on the floor. There's enough room for your legs... More

I Googled the best vegan restaurants in NYC before travelling to NYC and this was mentioned on a blog. Food is amazing and the waiters/waitresses are quick but helpful. Lovely, authentic Korean atmosphere. Highly recommended for vegan-loving or Korean-loving foodies

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
