Before travelling to NYC on holiday from Australia I searched on-line for gluten free restaurants and found Bistango Restaurant on 3rd Ave-just around the corner from where we were staying. I was absolutely delighted to visit twice during our week stay in New York-Anthony and his staff provided wonderful dining experiences in a relaxed and welcoming environment. While we ate... More

Not your usual Italian restaurant. The portions were not huge as you mighty expect. However, they were ample size. The sauces were not raw tomato needing a Tums afterward. A very light Italian sauce. Very pleasant meal in a nice quite restaurant with very good service. A little out of the way from mid town but worth the walk.

We have been remiss in sharing our consistently wonderful experiences at Bistango. We found it a couple years ago when looking for a gluten-free restaurant but oh is it so much more. It's not just for those who must be careful about allergies; everyone who eats with us can't wait to come here because the food is so wonderfully prepared.... More

My daughter who doesn't eat gluten was dyeing for pasta. The pasta here was delicious as was the gluten free bed. My chicken was yummy. The wine was reasonable for NYC. Our female server was very nice even though we were obviously tourists. Yes we had a lovely evening and yes we will be back.

It doesn't matter what section of New York City we visit, we always eat at Bistango. My wife has celiac disease so it is imperative that she eats gluten-free. She not only feels safe eating here, but the food is delicious. Yes, the gluten-free food was delicious. The first question asked by our server was, are there any allergens? They... More

We chose Bistango because one of us was GF. Tonight's specials were really wonderful. Had the minestrone soup which was delicious. Also the seafood pasta dish with mussels, calamari, shrimp and clams was excellent. Other notable dishes were the lamb chops, seabass and salmon. Had a nice Chardonnay which paired nicely with everyone's meal. Great Waite service and very attentive... More

Went with my wife and daughters (a party of 7). The food got mixed reviews. The pasta generally got rave reviews. My chicken was overcooked and lacked seasoning. The cheese cake was excellent, but it was not typical NY cheese cake - much softer and more like a custard. The service was great, especially in trying to accommodate my youngest's... More

We came to NY for a theater show and my friends willingly went along with my out of the way restaurant choice to accomodate my dietary restrictions. The server did ask about any restrictions which was refreshing. However, our food was barely average and not consistent. My food came out at room temperature while someone else's came out burning hot.... More

Just a jazzed up menu. They have pizzetes which are so small you would think that they are tasters. We were feeling so hungry that we went to a snack bar after the meal. The food was passable but certainly not worth the inflated price. Never go there again.

The pasta was delicious, the service was prompt. Loved the feel of the restaurant - I felt like I was in Europe. I would like to go back when I have time to sample more from the menu.
