Description: Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

This New York steak staple feels every bit a classic steakhouse when you walk in. Lining the ceilings are antique smoking pipes which are a nod to its historical smoking tradition, including the personal pipes from such famous dignitaries like Teddy Roosevelt, Babe Ruth etc. The Porterhouse is very good but a touch under Peter Lugers IMO. The raw oysters... More

I am a massive steak lover and when I go to a restaurant in the UK, I always order the biggest steak as I cannot usually get enough- I did this here and the steak I received was not edible for 1 person. The steak, veg and sides were beautiful. I would recommend booking in advance as there were a... More

Decided to try this place because we were going to a concert at Madison Square Garden and it was close by. We were greeted and seated right away which was the best part of the visit. We just ordered an entrée each which took some time to get to us. The table next to us ordered after us but were... More

This historic New York City chop house is filled with old clay pipes on the walls from the days when the mostly male clientele would enjoy a good smoke after eating. If lamb/mutton and beef chops appeal to you with a little history thrown in for good measure, this place is for you.

There are a number of places to get a good steak in NYC, and this is one of the best. What makes this stand out is the old world ambience from the decor, and service that manages to be both formal and have a quiet welcoming smile at the same time - a perfect balance that is not easy to... More

The steak was great. But if you love single malt scotch, they have a whole menu of them. I took one of my colleagues who is into single malt and he couldn't believe such a place existed. They also have pipes stored there. The store us that when people came to have drinks and a smoke, they left the pipes... More

OMG. Keen's Steakhouse is awesome to say the least. The food and service were perfect. We highly recommend Keen's. Keen's opened back in 1890 and is still going strong today. Will be going back in the near future.

I loved this place from the beginning. The service was great. The food was even better. This is one of the best steaks I have ever had in my life. WIll dine there again the next time I am in NYC.

The food was very good and they had quite a crowd but this is the kind of restaurant that one goes to on an expense account. It is an age old complaint but honestly $50 for a steak and you have to pay more if you want potatoes with it? Oh, we couldn't possibly give you a baked potato too... More
