Description: Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

To start, I eat at Keens 5-6 times a year for business. It has been my favorite NYC steakhouse for 8 years now. I took my wife there for our 20th Anniversary. We were seated upstairs, in the front room, at one of four or five tables around the perimeter. The other tables were occupied by couples celebrating their 50th,... More

Visited this restaurant on 02 July (when visiting from Scotland) before the Billy Joel concert at MSG. It is near the venue although there was a thunderstorm that nite so we did get a cab. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us good advice about their steaks and portion sizes. The restaurant is very beautiful and stylish. We shared... More

We ate here because we wanted to be close to MSG for a concert. It's a good choice. We were seated promptly. The service was friendly and efficient. The steak quality, while not exceptional, is very good and they were cooked perfectly.

Come to Keen's for the mutton chop (they say it's legendary, and I can see why), prime rib, filet... the whole range of fine meats cooked to perfection in admirable portions. Atmosphere is defintely "men's club" style -- deep, dark woods and prints of hunting scenes and hounds. Service is attentive and professional. Prices are on the high side --... More

This is the third or fourth time I've dined at Keens and every time the steak is superb. We had the lobster bisque and iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing for starters and shared the chateaubriand. Simply divine! A really good Zinfandel (Swan river) to go with it and took away the leftover steak for an amazing sandwich the next... More

We dined in the Lincoln Room. A lot of cool pictures. The service was excellent. I was a little disappointed in the food. I got a T-Bone steak. Cooked correctly, but little flavor. It seems they did not put a lot of seasoning. I asked for the Red Wine sauce, and it was almost all butter. My oyster Rockefeller also... More

The prime rib was one of the best. The mutton chop was cooked to perfection, the three pound lobster was sweet and perfectly prepared. Not the place to go for an everyday meal for most, but an experience if you are looking for a great meal near Madison Square Garden. We will be back,

I visited Keens Steakhouse last Thursday July 17th after reading about the history of the restaurant. I was looking forward to quality filet mignon and cozy atmosphere with my wife. It was a Thursday evening so I didn't think I would need a reservation. Upon arrival at the restaurant the outside looked old and dingy. There was fresh garbage nearby... More

A lovely steakhouse with with nice decor and great steaks. My brother and I had the Chateaubriand and it tasted it perfect, my only problem was that I couldm't choose my own sauce but it tasted very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
