Description: Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Went with friends and had some very nice steaks, various cuts all cooked correctly. Oysters Rockefeller was on point too. Can't beat the vibe and decor for a steakhouse IMO. Very cool upstairs/downstairs areas and bars with lots of character.

It was a great night with the ambience, old pipes at the ceiling and delicious steaks. But I think the newspapers on the walls are just a little bit racist.

Ate here our last night in NYC. The wife and I split the T-bone and a bar portion of the mutton chop and a side of mushrooms. For starters we split the oysters rockefeller. The oysters were a delicious way to start the meal and I recommend them. We wanted to try the mutton, but since we had never had... More

Last year we ate here twice & it was absolutely stunning. The prime rib with bin 600 Malbec was just about perfect. This pre-Xmas NYC visit we were not so happy..... Amazingly, we were allocated the identical table as we sat at last year. Scarily, we ordered the same prime rib with the same wine. That's where the similarity ended... More

I chose this steak restaurant based on the excellent reviews on trip advisor. They were right! Our waiter was a delightful man, who was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant had a warm, lively atmosphere. We ordered the Caesar salad, which was big enough for two to share. My daughter had the 8 oz. filet, and said it was amazing. We... More

The location is great - close to Macy's and we were in town for holiday shopping. The food was excellent from start to finish, including the mutton chop (which lived up to its "legendary" tag on the menu). Service was flawless.

A classy, traditional NYC steakhouse with a good array of fine food. Prices are steep, however. I suppose you get what you pay for, but my budget won't handle $200-$300 per meal. Definitely "big night out" fare.

I'll just start off by saying that this was the best steak I've ever had. I had the filet and creamed spinach and both were amazing. This is a cozy old school style steakhouse/chophouse. It's atmosphere is laid back and cool. Don't be in a hurry when you go here because this is the type of restaurant where they want... More

For me, Keens is the best dry aged T bone stake over the world. Méat is tasty, so tender... One of my best New York souvenir
