We had been to other local bars throughout our stay and spotted this one just off the main road on the last night. We decided to give it a go and were not disappointed. The barman was very helpful and went out of his way to ensure we were happy with our visit. The food was excellent and plentyful (I... More

Good atmosphere, friendly local. Quick orders; special menu and price are nont excessive. For drinking we have opted for tap water so I have no idea about drinkd prices, The waitresses are polite and nice. Always remember to tip, is an "obligation". We were well. Since coming back

Really disappointing in compared to other Irish bars in the area. We were in its sister pub the stage coach tavern earlier in the day. Where it was bright clean helpful. Oldcastle is dark dingy and the toilets are disgusting. There was 5 waitresses standing round chatting for an hour why they had so many on I don't know. There... More

We didn't love it but we didn't hate. I wouldn't tell anyone not to go but I wouldn't recommend it either. Service was not good and the food was marginal. Pricey for what you get. Great atmosphere. Location was close to hotel and subway.

I went here after reading the recommendations on here. Atmosphere was lively and good and I was quickly shown to my table. The order was taken and drinks arrived quickly. The waitress was attentive and kept popping back wanting to know did I want more drinks. The whole thing that spoilt it for me was the fact that I clearly... More

Excellent Irish Pub in Midtown NYC. We found the place walking around looking for a place to have drinks and eat something. We were surprise with the excellent service and incredible prices for NYC. The wine bottles started at high $20's. The food was great. Excellent Onion Soup and Pico de Gallo. highly recommended. We sit in front of the... More

We found this pub/restaurant after getting off the hop on/off bus between central park and times square. Inside it is like most other pub style restaurant of which there are many in New York. The food here was great though. The bangers and mash that I had was very tasty and the burgers that my kids had were excellent. Above... More

There are 11,000 plus restaurants in NYC and we decided not to use Trip Advisor our first day. We stopped at the Oldcastle Pub & Restaurant on our way back to the Ameritania and after a disappointing lunch we were pleasantly surprised at the delicious fish and chips and cold beer. We liked it so much we returned again and... More

We were staying at Hilton Midtown, which does not have a proper sit-down restaurant. Luckily, found Oldcastle right around corner. Awesome asparagus and bacon appetizer. Chicken pot pie perfect comfort food. Was also a great place to hang out for couple of hours on Thanksgiving Day after parade and before our dinner reservations. In fact, if I'd known about Oldcastle... More
