I was meeting a group of college friends who hadn't seen one another in 20+ years, so we took advantage of THE round table at the Algonquin. Had a fabulous evening drinking, eating and catching up. Service was fabulous, though there was a bit of confusion over the split tab. Manager stepped in and worked it all out.

A grow of us went there for a pre-theater dinner and a Sunday brunch. The pre-theater dinner is very reasonably priced ($35 for 3 courses) and the portions were ample. Two of us ordered the chicken offering and were surprised when served two breast portions, pounded very thin, coated and fried. The soup, salad, and desserts were very good, however.... More

My husband and I went here before seeing Les Miserables for their Pre-Theatre menu. Food was very good, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. The only thing was the high pricing of the wine selections. Just be prepared for that!

had a groupon here so that's why we went. Meals are overpriced and you can get an equal or better cut of meat for much cheaper many other places. I had a NY strip, it had very little fat and was a very good steak but not worth 42$ in my opinion. not a bad place at all but it... More

This visit we just had cocktails in the sitting room lobby area. The actual bar is all black light and not what we wanted at 5 pm. We had to vigorously flag down a waiter and even then he seemed harried and took our order on the run. Other patrons who came in later were served before us which is... More

Def a tourist trap--pricey, poor quality drinks--altho service is fairly honest and friendly. Crab cake Appetizer was quite good but overpriced.

The Round Table Room is the site of the Algonquin Hotel's former Rose Room. This is where the literary nobles of the fabled Round Table, the so-called Vicious Circle, including Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley and Harpo Marx, gathered daily to eat, dish and quip. The stories about their lives and loves are legion, recounted in such books as "Here At... More

The roundtable is really a large lobby bar in the Algonquin Hotel. Service is your typical New York bustle and staff was continually dragging extra chairs from a room next to us. Tables are very close together and some are "lined up" in a row which is not conducive to a romantic private evening. Overall ambiance is more bar like... More

As a Dorothy Parker fan or serious literary aficionado this is a MUST do stop while in New York City. The architecture is superb; decor and lighting make the ambiance really terrific. Service is top notch... so are the prices. In the city you can expect to pay more: here... expect to pay a lot more. Our visit was at... More

Stayed at the Slgonquin two nights. The restaurant is terrible. Could not get our order right and was extremely slow. We ate breakfast here twice and can honestly say never again. We like the hotel, but the restaurant needs a lot of help. It was just not us, other tables around us experienced the same. We started joking amongst ourselves... More
