Theatre District - Reasonable NYC Prices

Chose CELTIC on the basis of TA reviews, location and price. It delivered. Server was friendly and attentive. Gave us table with a view even though we didn't ask. We shared Celtic salad; the waitress made sure we got it on 2 plates and didn't have to divide it ourselves. I had the messy... read more

Spent 5 days in New York at the end of April. Visited this bar every day we were there. Very friendly, Sean and his team make you very welcome. Good choice of beers/lagers and although we didn't eat here the meals we saw were very impressive. The bar has a great atmosphere and the customers are both friendly and lively.... More

Went to NY for a play and checked Trip Advisor for a restaurant near the theater. The reviews were accurate. Very full menu but we didn't want a heavy meal before the play. Their salad selection was wonderful. I had the arugula, cilantro, lemon salad with chicken and avocado - will definitely try to recreate this at home. Good quick... More

You will love this place. We could not keep away from it and had to visit at least once every day. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food, especially the Irish stew is the best I've had. Nick and Sharon on the bar are excellent as is all the staff. A home away from home.

I always avoid chains on vacation and was looking for some Irish food before a show. The bangers and mash was really good. Price was reasonable considering the area. I would stop in again during a future trip to Manhattan.

My daughter and I had about 45 minutes before curtain time and wanted to get out of the rain and off of our feet for a bit. The Playwright Celtic Pub was just around the corner. It was busy, but we were able to get seating at their top floor bar, mind you- it's up two quite steep sets of... More

We stopped by on Monday night after a long day of walking around and shopping...in Chinatown of course....and we were pleasantly surprised on how good the food was. I ordered the Sheppard's Pie and my wife had the steak sandwich. The pie was awesome!! and the steak sandwich was really good too. We also sat on the third floor open... More

We stopped in for a few drinks before a comedy-type show. The bartender was attentive and made good drinks. They were a bit on the more expensive side, but it is NYC, so considering that it was reasonable. It was definitely smart to get drinks here before heading to the club where drinks were very pricey and not very good.

Been here a few times and loved it every time. Many Irish pubs in and around Times Square but this is my favourite. Great drinks. Great food. Does get a little crowded at times due to its location and popularity, but time it right and you'll have a brilliant time.

We visited New york in March 2015 and whilst walking around for somewhere other than Macdonalds to eat we noticed this Pub/Resturant, as we approached we spoke to a nice man who told us just what we could get inside and to have a look. We went in and sat in the pub area and ordered a New York Strip... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
