excellent kosher meal after broadway shows

I noted people complaining about the service... You're going tovthe wrong place if you are headed to le marais to get charmed by the waiters. If you want a reliably excellent meal at a reasonable (nyc) price, this is perfect. Slightly noisy, but then we went with friends and are the type of people responsible for making all the noise!

It has been about a year since our last visit to Le Marais, in the heart of the Broadway Theatre District but Mother's Day seemed like a good opportunity to do so since we both are "committed carnivores" and their steaks are excellent. Over the years we have been there a dozen times and occasionally we have been "put off"... More

Food was good but not above average or remarkable in any way. Service was quick but our server was not very friendly. We had 5:30 p.m. reservations for a 7 p.m. musical. We were finished dinner at 6:05. would have preferred a better paced service.

If you are looking to have a kosher dinner, this is one of the best place to go. This is a French Brasserie style restaurant Glatt Kosher. Meats are simply amazing. This a place to have a finicky dinner and bring a date as well, or even to go with friends for a casual kosher dinner.

The draw here is that it's Kosher and it's big, which made it perfect for our large group of gentiles and Jews. The food was good - they don't have all the cuts you would expect to find at a steakplace but the menu is fun to read as it has old world dishes. The beer selection small but excellent.... More

This restaurant is an iconic part of Midtown Manhattan. With their famous mouthwatering steaks grilled to perfection, they have become the restaurant of choice for many visitors of Times Square, Broadway, or any other attraction in the heart of Manhattan. I highly recommend!

We wanted to have a nice dinner before the 8pm show at the Palace Theatre around the block and stumbled upon Le Marais around 6:30. They were fairly crowded; we did not have a reservation but were seated immediately. I believe that this is one of the few (if not the only) kosher restaurants in the Times Square/Theatre District area.... More

We chose Le Marais for a pre-theatre dinner. The food was great -- steak was perfectly cooked; great French fries; very generous hunk of tuna in the salade nicoise. The service, however, was slow and inattentive. Getting the server's attention was pretty much impossible as she was never on the floor. She never came by to see how the food... More

Found this place while escaping the crowds in Times Square. WOW, what a great find. I had Steak Au Poivre, with salad and mashed potatoes. Excellent!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
