Great Food, Great Location

We went to Cafe Europa at about 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. We only had tea and cake, but oh, the cake was lovely. My husband had carrot cake and I had the apple cinnamon pie, Yum, yum. Our visit coincided with the end of a concert at Carnegie Hall, which is on the opposite corner, and we... read more

Cafe Europa is located on 5th ave in Midtown Manhattan. They have a wide variety of food choices. My favorite is the chopped salad. You pick your greens and then they add as many toppings as you would like on an assembly line type system. Then the salad is put through an industrial type food processor and it is chopped... More

We enjoyed our breakfast here - a wrap with sausage, egg, mushroom and tomato, and pancakes with sausages. Juice was nice, tea was passable.

Not fancy...choose your own food and pay at the counter, but that end of New York does not have a wealth of everyday type places to catch a bite if you are sightseeing. Recommend by the local police woman when we just wanted a bite. Lots of choices. The warm sandwiches were good. Others in our party had the salads,... More

I stopped in here with my family back in December, a few days before Christmas. We were in the mood for some dessert and we just happened upon here while walking around. It took us a long time to actually get our desserts since none of the workers spoke English and couldn't understand which desserts we wanted (despite us pointing... More

Pizza is bad. Desserts even worse. Stop there in the way to the train station looked nice from the outside. Service left much to be desired. They are lucky was the only place open. Worst place of my vacation

We stayed at the Manhattan Club and the Cafe Europa was on the next corner. Upscale "fast food"....pasta dishes, great soups and sandwiches....to go or eat there. Window tables let you watch the NY'ers going by. Varied menu, something for most everyone. The crowded tables and those waiting for takeout can't all be wrong, this place was VERY convenient and... Dine out like a deli. Had bowls of bean chilli soup with avocado, radish & scallions. So tasty & just right in a cold day. Staff friendly. Clean throughout. Will call again

This place is just what it looks like. Nothing fancy, but decent fast food that is not fast-food. We had an omelette, breakfast sandwich, potatoes, yogurt parfait, coffee and juice. The cost wasn't terrible, considering the location, and the food was made to order. The worst part really, were the pushy customers. Poor traffic flow to the registers and a... More

I was walking by the Cafe Europa on 5th Ave and stopped to try their pizza. I had a sausage and a plain slice. The sauce must have come from a can and the crust looked and tasted like a frozen pizza. Most NY pizzarias use fresh dough that is hand tossed and is uneven and crispy. I have had... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
