We have been coming to Orso at leAst once a year for ten years. Their signature dish is their calves liver. Over the past ten years the dish has made some changes and this time was the last. If you are going to have a dish that you are known for r you shouldn't change it. This last visit was... More

Selected due to proximity to our theaters, trip advisor, Zagat recs. Over phone obtained 500pm reservation "as long as we're done by 615". Authentic Italian menu, Primi, Secondi, etc. must know Italy's wine regions to select your wine. I splurged and we had Zepato vineyard Amarone , $120. Really good, smooth finish. I had the quail-it's stuffing and sauce exquisite.... More

The food at Orso is tasty and good. It's not over powering and has a good blend of authentic Italian cuisine for the American Pallet. The service is ok. Not the greatest. Had to call the waiter each time we needed water.(3 times). Food arrives fast. The restaurant seemed to move things along quickly. The wine selection was decent. Portions... More

There aren't many NYC restaurants that can remain "hot" not for years but for decades. Orso is consistently reliable, with tasty Italian food and professional service. The manager, Kevin, is always on top of his game, and when you have a reservation, count on him to honor it promptly. Just remember to call far in advance for pre-theater reservations (at... More

I love this northern Italian lil gem. It's a great people watching and celeb spotting gem in the theater district. The grilled octopus is delicious and the pasta dishes and pizza are always reliable.

That Orso has remained atop the NYC theater goer"s restaurant list. The food delivers! Service is accommodating and friendly. Whether one dines before or after a performance, the restaurant always seems to know when you will arrive and when you need to leave. Recently dining after almost three hours of Edward Albee, my friends and I opted to share a... More

I had a business lunch at Orso and found the food to be delicious and the atmosphere to be enjoyable. I had the pan roasted chicken which was crispy on the outside while being moist and tender on the inside. The service was very good with the waiter being attentive without being overpowering. He asked if we needed to catch... More

I must have ordered the wrong thing on the menu but the pizza I received was bland and practically tasteless. The leek and potato soup was decent, but have had better. Service poor. Ordered a glass of wine and after 10-15 minutes I had to remind my waiter about it then waited another 10 min for another waiter to deliver.... More

This charming restaurant never ever fails in delivering one memorable meal after another in a timely fashion. The calves liver is the Best! Reservations needed as this is one hot spot pre and after theater.

Went here for dinner before seeing a play . Food was very good we were served promptly so we didn't have a problem making show. Only problem I had was that the first 3 dishes that our food was served on were chipped. When I brought this to the waitress attention I was told that the chipped dishes were part... More
