Great for Late Night Dining

Always a favorite, Orso is conveniently located to the theatre district while still maintaining a local flair. Our party of six enjoyed a variety of dishes, all prepared well. Despite the late hour, the restaurant was lively and vibrant until we left at closing around 1am or so.

We ate at Orso with friends while in NYC. We enjoyed their house red wine, shared a caprese appetizer, and then ordered a variety of dishes for dinner, including the risotto, the salmon, and the mahi mahi. Everything we had was excellent--fresh ingredients, prepared just right. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner!

Very lucky to get in today during Restaurant Week, on a Weds. matinee day. We opted for the Prixe Fixe $25, trying the Mare appetizer and Kale salad, both were very good. Main courses Taglatelle and mushrooms very good. Trout deboned and excellent. Desserts of a Torta Cherry and best Creme Brulee ever. Excellent service got us to theater with... More

We went here before a Sunday Matinee. It was really quite good. I ordered the Gnocchi w/lamb. It was so tasty and the gnocchi were so light!!!! there was a large group of us (8) each of us ordered something different. Each one was happy with their choice!!!! I would definitely go there again!!!!! Wonderful martini's too. :)

We had reservations but arrived early and were accommodated immediately by the very friendly maître'd'. Sat at a quiet corner table. Attentive service. Delicious grilled octopus appetizer followed by Scottish salmon perfectly cooked medium. My wife had the signature dish: Calves liver and onions. It was the best ever. The seasonings on all dishes were so subtle and delicious it... More

They don't always have on menu, I think but their uni pasta special was a stop-chewing-to-process-incredible-taste-sensation. I really enjoyed it. Orso's other appetizers, flat breads, are lovely but I think their pastas are a standout. (This from someone who doesn't go wild for pasta particularly) Great they're open pretty late too : )

We have usually dined here before seeing a Broadway show, but this time they were booked solid when we called a week ahead, so we took a table at 10:45 pm after seeing The Book of Mormon. This ristorante remains our favorite in the theater district, and it is less crowded and somehow even more relaxing late at night. The... More

In a neighborhood chock full of restaurants Orso is a stand out. We enjoyed a quiet dinner, yes the restaurant was quiet enough to easily have a conversation. Very simple, comfortable decor with a European vibe. The food was amazing ... especially noteworthy were the complimentary bread with white bean dip, caprese salad with delectable buffalo mozzarella and the lamb... More

When you can get a reservation you will not be disappointed! Menus that change daily, service that is helpful and knowledgable, lovely ambiance and food that is creative, well presented and delicious. The bonus is the fabulous vegetable side dishes...they could make a meal on their own. This remains one of my all time favorites.
