Wonderful pre-theater service but our food was not fresh tasting and at times seemed pre-prepared. Our salads (caprese and beet) were pre-plated and tasted of hours of uncovered refrigeration. There was an awful shortening-like garlic spread for our bread. My white wine ordered by the glass literally tasted like apple juice. The seafood fettuccini smelled fishy while my husband's homemade... More

This very comfortable restaurant near the theater district and Times Square has wonderful service and a very nice menu. We shared the "house" salad which was delicious and each had a 1/2 serving of a pasta dish which was more than enough. The meat sauce was the perfect amount; not piled on and not too skimpy. The pricing seemed reasonable... More

We were there during restaurant week. The 3 course meal for $25 was excellent. The restaurant was full with Wednesday matinee goers. The mussel appetizer made with fennel, grape tomatoes in a tomato cream sauce were the best mussels I have ever had. The rest of the meal was equally good. The servers were efficient and friendly.

Orso has one of the smaller rooms on restaurant row -- but everyone is super friendly and the food is always terrific. This is one of our "go-to" NYC restaurants. The menu changes too - which also helps keeps things very fresh. After ordering you are brought the bread with a cannelloni bean spread which doesn't last long at the... More

Beautiful escape from the hurried streets of New York that transports you out of the city through all of your senses. Combination of the flavors compliment the attentive staff who let you enjoy every taste without rushing your plates off the table. Something for everyone on this well rounded Italian menu; but take risks, the chefs at Orso know what... More

This is a small Italian trattoria on 46th street in the midst of other small restaurants on restaurant row. We had a lovely dinner here for six. They were very attentive and helpful and the dinner, delightful in every way. Quail stuffed with sausage and farro was ordered, several dishes of pasta and pizza and all were enjoyed. We had... More

When we attend the theater in NYC, we prefer to dine near the theater to avoid being rushed. Orso has an ideal location, and despite being small has ample seating. The menu is high-end Italian and the roasted baby artichokes are too die for. Everything else on the menu is also superb as is the service and presentation. One of... More

Have visited Orso every time I'm in NYC for the past 20 years and it never disappoints. Sometimes I break my cardinal rule and even dine there twice. Sunday brunch is divine. This is not your pretentious, uppity, Theater District restaurant but a reliable, welcoming spot serving fresh, well prepared dishes by friendly staff. Even the kids can enjoy a... More

Always delicious, sometimes celeb-spotting, and half portions so you don't fall asleep in the theatre!
