They don't always have on menu, I think but their uni pasta special was a stop-chewing-to-process-incredible-taste-sensation. I really enjoyed it. Orso's other appetizers, flat breads, are lovely but I think their pastas are a standout. (This from someone who doesn't go wild for pasta particularly) Great they're open pretty late too : )

We have usually dined here before seeing a Broadway show, but this time they were booked solid when we called a week ahead, so we took a table at 10:45 pm after seeing The Book of Mormon. This ristorante remains our favorite in the theater district, and it is less crowded and somehow even more relaxing late at night. The... More

In a neighborhood chock full of restaurants Orso is a stand out. We enjoyed a quiet dinner, yes the restaurant was quiet enough to easily have a conversation. Very simple, comfortable decor with a European vibe. The food was amazing ... especially noteworthy were the complimentary bread with white bean dip, caprese salad with delectable buffalo mozzarella and the lamb... More

When you can get a reservation you will not be disappointed! Menus that change daily, service that is helpful and knowledgable, lovely ambiance and food that is creative, well presented and delicious. The bonus is the fabulous vegetable side dishes...they could make a meal on their own. This remains one of my all time favorites.

We went to dinner after a matinee. Orso was an easy walk from the theatre even in heavy rain. My wife had the salmon which was cooked to perfection. My lamb chops were also cooked to perfection. This was our third time at Orso, each visit was a elight.

Party of 7, we had a variety of menu items and all were very good. Rabbit was as good as any I have had in Tuscany, Italy. Wait staff was very accommodating and exceptionally pleasant. This place knows how to do pre-theatre so do not hesitate. Will go back next time I am in NYC for a show.

My wife and I had dinner here before theatre. The food and wine were very good. Portions were generous and the prices were quite reasonable. We will definitely return here the next time we are coming in for theatre.

We dined at Orso pre theater on a Sunday evening. We made reservations through opentable for 5:30pm. The restaurant staff called that morning to confirm. When half of our party arrived a bit earlier, they were seated which was nice, rather than making them wait (we were hung up on the subway). We were greeted, coats checked and brought to... More

When I say odd, I mean things like rabbit, calf's liver and roasted quail. I had the lamb chops and they were very good. This was our first time eating here, but for a pre theatre meal, it was a good choice. The location was right down the block from the theatre we were going to. The service was very... More

We have been here several times when our travels take us to the theater district. We find the food excellent, well priced, great service, and an overall pleasant calming experience. Just one fault--the decor is rather ordinary, lighting is bad. I think a little money should be spend to improve the ambience of this otherwise theater-district gem.
