Who knew old school was still alive

I had the pleasure of attending a work dinner at Barbetta. The overall decor and ambience is old school New York, from the floral decor and waiters in tuxedo, if you want fine dining with a smile, this is your place. The menu is wonderful and food is classic Italian. We ate outside and who would... read more

From the moment we walked in the door we felt transported to an earlier time when courtesy and manners were the rule, not the exception. From the warm welcome we received, to the greetings we got from other staff members as we were guided to our table made us feel at home. We had made reservations, and were fortunate to... More

Last evening was our first dining experience at Barbetta. It certainly will not be our last. We were in town celebrating family… our Aunt visiting from Holland, our niece's 20th birthday… and celebrating Mom who is 80. From the moment we entered the front door we were welcomed and made to feel like the entire staff was there for our... More

I am definitely not a restaurant critic, and it's always hard to give a mediocre review on a restaurant with such great reviews, but unfortunately this is the case. My son had taken my myself and my wife there for her birthday. Growing up in an Italian family it is always fun to try restaurants of my heritage. We were politely... More

From beginning to end, our experience at Barbettas was exceptional. My husband and I were greeted at the door with a welcome, our coats were taken, and we were led to our reserved table in the corner of this elegant italian restaurant. Our waiter, Eduardo immediately came to our table to chit chat and learn who we were. We felt... More

To celebrate my birthday part of my family said there was no place more special then Barbetta. I agreed. The room is so elegant and surely appropriate for a very special occasion. If it was warm weather we would have dined in their magnificent garden. The amuse bouche was excellent and as we were three they recommended & we shared... More

Looking for a non-meat dinner and looking forward to some pasta; however, I did not see any pasta on the menu at first. The waiter helped us make our choices and the food was fabulous and every course he recommended was superb. Would definitely come back to this restaurant agan. Our only complaint is that the wine list was extremely... More

We had an excellent dining experience at Barbetta. The food was outstanding, wine selection perfect, and service top shelf. Recommend the per-theater menu. Perfect amount of food.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
