Terrific staff

We went to Barbetta before an evening at the theater with two eleven year old girls. The food was very good to excellent, but this review is in praise of the staff. The girls wanted the prix fixe dinner, but it was too much for them. There was absolutely no problem in splitting the order for... read more

To celebrate my birthday part of my family said there was no place more special then Barbetta. I agreed. The room is so elegant and surely appropriate for a very special occasion. If it was warm weather we would have dined in their magnificent garden. The amuse bouche was excellent and as we were three they recommended & we shared... More

Looking for a non-meat dinner and looking forward to some pasta; however, I did not see any pasta on the menu at first. The waiter helped us make our choices and the food was fabulous and every course he recommended was superb. Would definitely come back to this restaurant agan. Our only complaint is that the wine list was extremely... More

We had an excellent dining experience at Barbetta. The food was outstanding, wine selection perfect, and service top shelf. Recommend the per-theater menu. Perfect amount of food.

Wonderful experience. Food was very good, service was great. A little more spacious than most NYC restaurants. Elegant, yet cozy interior. Great experience.

Barbetta is truly an "old world" experience. Everything from the steps outside to interior ambiance and staff feels like the days long ago. Even though we were stuck in traffic and were a bit late, the staff ensured we felt welcome and not rushed, but had an enjoyable experience and were able to make our show ontime. The establishment is... More

Barbetta is a NYC institution located in a former mansion on Restaurant Row for over 100 years, and for over 100 years owned by the same family. That should tell you something. The ambiance is elegant and the service is impeccable. The food served is fresh, and delicious, not overly salty, which is a problem at many restaurants. We enjoyed... More

I took my wife to Barbetta for valentines day. We loved the look of the brown stone. As soon as we walked In we were welcomed. The wait staff was wonderful. We sat on the 2nd floor at a small intimate table. The menu was prefixed so the options were limited but the food was great. We had an 6pm... More

We dined here for my birthday whilst on holiday. My husband had informed Barbetta that it was my birthday and they presented me with a birthday creme brulee. The service was great and the meal excellent.

I went on a Saturday night at 7;pm. It was very noisy. Thankfully the theater crowd left and we could resume our normal voices. i was disappointed in the serving portions. I have been to lots of pricey restaurants and have never left feeling hungry. The soup was very good. I had the scallops which was also very good but... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
