Classic French cuisine on Restaurant Row

We were greeted with a cheerful "Bon soir" at the door. We checked our coats then proceeded to a cozy table. You feel like you are in a cozy restaurant in France. The wife and I visited Le Rivage for a Saturaday Valentine's dinner. Because it was a sold out night, the retaurant opted to use a special event, fixed price menu. The evening started with a glass of champagne (included), and an appetizer / soup / salad. Mine was a lobster bisque which was outstanding. The wife had a mixed green... More

I am not a fan of duck, though I understand the duck here is yummy. I ordered fish, which was good but not great. The lunch prixe fixe is a nice way to go for lunch. Affordable and decent. But in all honesty, I can't rave about it.

We tried this restaurant before a show and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and cordial speedy service. The pre-theater meal is a 3 course price fixed meal with ample choices of appetizers and entrees. It includes dessert and coffee. I had duck with orange sauce and my wife had trout almondine. Both were excellent. The beet... More

Cozy French fare on restaurant row. Always dine there when I go to theater alone. You are always welcomed with greetings and a smile at Le Rivage. Their $39 three course menu is delightful and authentic! When the restaurant is extremely busy I dine at the bar; most of the time I am seated quickly and always feel as if... More

i really wanted to love this restaurant but could not. The setting is very charming and the staff is great. But the food was subpar. The frisée salad had bacon bits, not lardons, and a hard boiled egg instead of poached. Not very French mes amis. The duck was good, but I couldn't help but think it had been prepared... More

My wife and I ate at Le Rivage before a show and had their prix fixe meal. The food was excellent--especially the seafood crepe and the beet salad. The staff was friendly and attentive and I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's small, so make a reservation and request a table in the back.

Very classically French food here, good food and reasonably priced. In the Theatre district, worth a visit.

I had orange duck and beet salad. The duck was cooked to keep the juices inside. It also had more of a free range instead of factory taste. The beet salad was also very good. I'd return next time I'm in NYC.

This is a French place on Restaurant Row of 46th St. It was very cold outside, and LeRivage proved the ideal place to warm up and have an excellent meal. The duck with orange sauce was excellent, and coq au vin equally fine. Liked the onion soup a lot. They had a nice prix fixe menu that was broad and inclusive... More
