Le Rivage offers beautifully plated, well-prepared food in manageable portions. The service was excellent, with pleasant waiters and a good noise level. Great for a pre-theater dinner. I recommend the fresh fish dishes in particular.

Pre theater dinner booked through Open Table (the only way to go) - once we found the restaurant we were enchanted by the decor and the bustle of the restaurant. The service was exceptional but then we ordered our meal and voila! what great food. The escargot will get your appetite started and the Cordon Bleu will be a meal... More

My friend and I walked in without reservation for early dinner. We chose from the a la carte menu. I had shrimp and my friend had the boeuf bourguignon. Both dishes were excellent.Service was quick. We were seated on the outside patio as the main restaurant was for patrons who were having the prix-fixe pre-theatre dinner.

We visited this restaurant before seeing a show and we tried the Theater Prix Fixe menu. The décor is a combination of old world French and Italian grotto. Okay, so it's not modern and trendy but who cares if you're only coming for the delicious food? We enjoyed the chicken cordon bleu and boeuf bourgignon. Pear tart with crème anglaise... More

Walking into this restaurant is like walking through a time warp. The dated interior is like so many restaurants in France where they see no reason to redecorate while they rely on the popularity of their cooking. The menu is also typically French, as is the food they serve. We certainly enjoyed our pre-theatre meal, with such a large choice... More

We ate at this restaurant during our NYC stay before going to see a Broadway show. It was so good! My mom and I went on a quick girls get away for my birthday and this restaurant did not disappoint for the perfect birthday dinner! We ordered from the fixed menu they have prepared and everything sounded incredible. I ended... More

My daughter and I visited Le Rivage to celebrate her birthday. From the moment we stepped out of the hectic Times Square area and into this lovely quaint resteraunt we knew we had found a gem. We were greeted warmly by the entire staff. The interior is so sweet, our table had fresh flowers and was very inviting. I was... More

Small little restaurant, very nice ambiance, and very nice waitresses. Was scared to try the Escargot, but glad I did. Best I ever had. Had a ceasar salad, escargot, and French onion burger to die for. Desserts were delicious. Went twice in a week because it was soooo good.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
