Great entertainment as you are eating

We went about 5.30 and wereluck enough not to stand in a very long queue. we were well looked after by the waitress and the food was great. I loved the entertainment whilst you were eating. The waiters and waitresses are aspiring to be actors and they work here in between jobs. A great way to... read more

We had a good time at Ellen's Stardust Diner. It was a laid back atmosphere. The food was good diner food. The staff of aspiring Broadway stars was very entertaining. The experience was the personification of all the stories about folks with big dreams heading to the city and working hard for their big break.

For travelers to NYC, Ellen's Stardust Diner, 1650 Broadway, represents much of what NYC means to everyone. Friendliness, great service, fun atmosphere, showbiz, great breakfast, affordability for all, past in present pleasurable decor, live entertainment. Some entertainers in the past got their career started at the diner. The fall of 2013, on our way to a tour, we stopped in... More

It's a really fun place to eat. The waiters and waitresses are all extremely good singers and very personable. The line outside was long, about a half hour wait. The food was okay. Definitely a place to go to at least once. It would be especially fun to go with a group. There were lots of families with kids.

Always fun to have a meal here! It does get crowded so try for a late lunch during the week to avoid a wait. Food is good, portions are large. The real draw is the performing wait staff! What talent!

As per other reviews.... very very average food - which was made obvious when walking into the restaurant and seeing everyone plate left unfinished. Also quite pricey for the poor quality... you'd like to think the high prices would go towards giving the entertainers extra money, however they then come around with buckets asking for more tips from you! Entertainment... More

After waiting in line for about a half hour we were seated and given menus. It took a while to be served but in the meantime some of the waiters did put on a show which passed the time. There were 4 of us and it took awhile for our food to come because it was very busy. Food was... More

A diner with singing waiters and waitresses. Typical diner menu with all the usual favorites. The food was above average. The real treat is the service. The staff of Broadway hopefuls sings and dances for you while waiting tables. They put on a great show while providing exceptional service.

This place is more than just the food. Atmosphere was electric and staff were welcoming and friendly. The staff take turns in singing and OMG what voices. Absolutely not to be missed. A night to remember. Sing along to some favourites. Food is average but we did not seem to care. They pass around a bucket for tips and the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
