Came here on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews - had breakfast, food fairly usual New York diner fare. I had not known about the singing waiting staff beforehand, all of whom are apparently theatre/music students - what a lot of talent on display, especially Kevin, what a great voice! A bit loud at 09:00 for my tastes, but a... More

This place should be in the free things to do in NY, you have to pay your dinner but all the extra show is free. the place is just a couple of blocks from Times square. The place is decorated with memorabilia of rock and roll and broadway, if you are looking for a quiet and fancy place to eat,... More

Go twice if you are a Broadway wannabee or love Frozen! Staff jump onto the tables and burst into song all through service. Manager buts in occasionally to give them all a hard sell and comes around with a bucket to get your change! Breakfast not bad, prices not too bad, experience once in a lifetime.

I took my teenage daughter here on her first trip to New York. I wouldn't rave about this place but it's certainly something to experience. Yes, the waiters/waitresses break into song but I'm afraid they can appear tired. On the both occasions I have been, they haven't been up on the tables but I don't hold it against them. This... I was in NYC with my 2 teenaged daughters and my sister, and the concierge recommended this place. I am so glad that she did. We went for breakfast. The food was good. It was your typical eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc., but the real reason you go is for the entertainment. If you love Broadway music, you have to go.... More

We stopped in for a late night snack and was pleasantly surprised that they have singing servers. They are waiting for there chance on Broadway and they can sing! It was a lot of fun and the food is good too.

Ellen's was a fun first lunch in NYC. The staff is clearly talented and the entertainment continuous. The food was ok, prices typical for this type of tourist area (we found $10 kids meals to be high until we realized many NY restaurants don't even offer kid options). I would go again if I were with girlfriends just for the... More

Visited after a long day of sight seeing in NY. There was a queue and we almost didn't wait as we were so hungry, but they manage it fantastically and it went quickly. Tip - when you are within 20 people of the front of the line it is time for some "active queueing". The person managing the queue comes... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
