If you need a reasonable great food restaurant near the theatre ... go no further! Try a fresh pasta or one of their specials of the day and you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Tiny little place in Hell's Kitchen. This restaurant is so small that you have to go outside to change your mind. This place is so small that 2 dinner plates will not fit on the table. Order the prixe fixe or you will spend a small fortune on very little mediocre food. We had the chicken parmesan and the parpadelle... More

Went for a Pre Theater dinner. Very small Italian restaurant. Reservations a must. Very reasonable 3 course. We had the soup-very good Italian lentil and a salad-very nice Ceasar. Our mains- two veal with lemon sauce, the other a very nice gnocchi pasta. For desert 1 chocolate mousse and 1 canoli. Both very good. A bottle of wine for 2... More

In a city where most things are expensive, it was a delight to discover this little place. I've dined at the Basilica many, many times since 2006 and have never been disappointed. Service is great, atmosphere is warm and welcoming plus the food is just excellent and a good value. I think their slogan sums up why this place is... More

When visiting home over the holidays we decided to stop by Basilica based on some reviews I had read. We were not disappointed. Located near Restaurant Row, this small (and I mean small) hole in the wall offers a fine selection of authentic italian food. For starters we had the bruschetta(fresh and delicious) and the garlic bread with cheese on... More

The dinners were good for the money, 2 off theprice fixeice pre dinner menu and one had the parpardelle (best). With the price fixe came a better than expeceted (tho' not great bottle) and huge cannellonis that were the worst item - filling great, pasties hard as rock. This restaurant is very tight -no extra space between tables, diners, or... More

We had dinner with a friend, this restaurant was more then what we thought it would be, with so many choices in the city, its was nice to find this one. Popular with the locals, most people are recognized as they enter, the owner is a warm and lovely man. We would definitely good back when we visit again. Nice... More

Food here was excellent. The restaurant is tiny and unassuming, but we had a fantastic experience. It is within walking distance to the Ambassador Theatre, which was a plus because we were in need of a walk after consuming so much delicious food. Make a reservation beforehand.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
