Let me preface this with saying we've been huge fans of Esca over the years, looking for every opportunity to take friends and families there or just have a romantic date night. We've never had a bad meal there -- until now. We had to wait a long time for our reserved table (but in fairness it was a busy... More

We went before the show. The food was very good. Crudités excellent. The service is horrible: we had to ask 3 times to give us bread, then 2 times for oil .. After explaining the waiter what and in what order to bring ( it seemed that he was writing it down ) he brought everything in a wrong order.... More

I thought I had gone back to Italy - the food was wonderful- the grilled sea bass was perfection. We had a bit of a mix up over wine - thought the young man was inexperienced - but yes I would go back in a heartbeat.

After reading some reviews, I wasn't sure how I felt about eating here. I had mixed expectations. Overall, I would say this restaurant is OK food but way too expensive for what they are serving. I can't even remember which dish I had because it was such a mediocre experience. I do remember that they had a fantastic wine selection.... More

Esca, bookings are essential as the local foodies support this place. Great staff, wonderful menu, food beautifully cooked and perfect ambiance. This was a find. One recommended by your members. After having poor success with just walking in to a New York restaurant we looked for help.

Esca has long been one of our go-to places for fish in the city. Our visit last Saturday evening for dinner, however, will be our last. We had an 8:00 reservation, but weren't seated until after 9:00. It took another 30 minutes to get our order taken and even longer to even get bread. While the first course dishes of... More

During our visit to NYC, Esca was on my list of restaurants to visit. We made a reservation on the same date, we arrived and were prompted to a table, that for our surprise, was shared. The place was crowded and too noisy, so it was difficult to talk, moreover in between four other people. The table was a wood... More
