The service, wine list and food were terrific. Must like seafood to enjoy this establishment...if you do, add it to your list.

This is a good restaurant. The food is good to very good but the service is very good by New York standards. The best lobster spaghetti I've ever had was at Joe Beef in Montreal. Esca's lobster spaghetti is good but nowhere near as good as Joe Beef. The "crudo" raw fish apps are delicious. Well prepared, perfectly seasoned and... More

Esca was a terrific surprise for us as a pre-theater dinner. We could easily walk to the theater district from there. When we first opened our menus, we were just silent - waiting for the other to say something about the unusual choices. We finally both said, "This is going to be awesome!" We have eaten every type of seafood,... More

We have eaten here many times. Always outstanding food and service. Special crudo appetizer is amazing. Pasta with lobster also very special. Great restaurant.

This restaurant is so bad and so expensive that you feel like a fool for having sat out a meal. A salad that had to go back, because it tasted like forage soaked in fish sauce, with the waiter observing, "But that is what anchovy tastes like." Talked into a substitute salad that tasted like the Brussels sprouts that made... More

My daughter and I shared a ricotta gnocchi and the branzino, which is sea bass. We had truffles grated on the fish as well...expensive, but interesting. We enjoyed the meal and Bradley, the server, was very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

We had an excellent dining experience: the fish and seafood dishes were tastefully presented and were just great. The staff and waiters were always checking if all was OK; the choice of wines and cocktails was large: the number of sibgle malt whiskies could be expanded. Overall, an excellent meal, friwndly service; a place we will go back to in... More

If you have a non-seafood eater in your group don't go. This is a "seafood" restaurant and a very good one at that. This was our first visit and we were both very happy with are meals. The have a very large selection of seafood I've never seen but everything we tried was great. My husband is not a seafood... More

We've been to Esca about half a dozen times in the past few years, and always had wonderful meals, highlighted by the crudi. We've had the tasting menu with accompanying drinks. We've have the salt-baked cod. Pasta with uni sauce. Couple dozen oysters at a time. All to die for. Not the last time earlier this year. The crudi were... More

If a member of your dining party doesn't like seafood, this restaurant won't work for you. This is not the case for us, but I think it's important to note that you aren't going to find non-seafood options. We really enjoyed our meal here. My daughter started with an appetizer of Monkfish liver (I am not a liver person, but... More
