Breakfast

Very attentive staff and very delicious food. A la carte breakfast and I had omelette, my friend smoked salmon bagel. Delicious. If only the Americans could do English breakfast tea! Then it would be perfect!!

We were so excited to have dinner at this place but we're very disappointed. Coming from France and Germany we have tried good food (especially French). This one has no real taste. The ingredients are set interesting together but don't make any sense and are not tasteful (shrimps for starter, Lamb chops and Cod fish with side). I ordered a glass... More

I was more impressed with the venue and service than the food. Plenty of variety on the lunch menu...I had the vendredi selection which was salmon....small portion with small accompaniments....not worth the cost. The other diner had teh vegetable lasagne...looked good but lots of red sauce. French press coffee was a nice touch.

My husband and so enjoyed breakfast at Gaby's during our first time stay at the Sofitel Hotel. It's wonderful! If you book a breakfast package, you'll be feasting without worrying about the typical NYC hotel price. Service is beautiful and the quality and presentation of the food rates the highest marks. Tip: Ask for Edmond as a server.

I went for restaurant week. The atmosphere was very nice, the service excellent, but the food was just okay. It is a nice alternative to the steakhouses in the area, so I may give it another try.

Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and elegant. Restrooms were inconviently located in basement of hotel lobby. Escargot was bland. Foigois was so so. French onion soup was good. Wife had the seared fish fillet, that too was bland and run of the mill. I had the duck breast. It came on a bed of celery purée which I didn't like.... More

The food was good quality however the portions are very small for the price. My filet mignon was good but very tiny for $40.00. Also, too much sauce all over the steak. Seared ahi over quinoa was ok. With so many choices in NY City i'll try a different restaurant next time.

Delicious menu choices - hard to choose just one! Wonderful service. It is pricey, but you owe yourself at least one fabulous breakfast here while visiting NYC.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
