Description: It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first...
It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first Estiatorio Milos on Park Avenue, Montreal. The reason seemed obvious to him: the need to elevate the sophistication of Greek cuisine abroad far away from its stereotyped forklorization. 'I wanted to change what people thought about Greek cuisine, make sure it's being appreciated and awarded with its rightful place on an international level!' As a small restaurant, Milos gained the trust of the Montrealers in no time. The menu being always simple and impeccably fresh, drew the attention of the media and food critics from around the world. NY Post has triumphly started that 'Milos fish could only be fresher if it swam to your plate!' What was the secret that made Milos stand out? Its focus in finding the purest Mediterranean products and cooking with the freshest ingredients.Through 35 years of intensive research, we have managed to build lasting relationships with growers and small-scale fisheries at the shores of Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and Portugal, flying in our fish and seafood daily by plane! Milos has since then taken the world by strom and opened in 1997 in NYC, in 2004 in Athens,in 2010 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas and in 2012 in Miami Beach and in 2015 in London! We invite you to live the Milos experience and celebrate with us our 35th year anniversary!

Nice small find

We wanted a good, light and healthy lunch close to our Hilton on West 57th. This place was perfect. They offer take-out but have a few tables for outdoor dining. It was a beautiful day and a perfect setting. I had a tuna burger and it was excellent.

I am a frequent diner at this great Greek restaurant and have never had a bad meal--consistency is the key to a good restaurant and Milos is definitely consistent,in the freshness of the fish, the unbelievable tomato salad , a fantastic appetizer in the Milos special( lightly fried zucchini and eggplant served with tzatziki-to the great wine and deserts and... This Greek seafood restaurant on West 55th Street is something special. For starters your waiter will escort you to the back of the restaurant to look at the selection of fish available from several countries and explain the different seafood available and several different options that you an order, one being the ability to order several different fish or seafood... This was our first visit to Milos of which was highly recommended by the staff at the hotel we stayed at. The restaurant was beautiful, however I do agree noisy & not the place if you're looking for a romantic dinner. Our food was good & we had good service, however over priced for what we received.

This is my second visit to Milos, albeit with a couple year hiatus in between. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was not very pleasant, as I found that the environment spoiled what otherwise would have been a good meal. In short, the tables are far too packed together for a fine dining restaurant. I dined there were a good friend,... More

If you are looking for a quiet romantic evening, this place is not for you. However, if a lively night of fresh fish is on your list - this is the place. The greeters at the door are decidedly not friendly but once you are seated the adventure begins. The waiter takes you to the wall of fish and describes... More

Took the family and had an amazing meal. After you arrive and get settled your waiter takes you to the fresh fish bar where you select your appetizers and main course. We had soft shell crab, scallops and octopus appetizers with sea bass and rock fish as the main. Soft shell crab was still moving around when we ordered it... More

First time I went years ago I thought it was overpriced, then after coming back a few times I can justify its really worth it. The location is very convenient for power lunches, the ambiance feels airy and fresh so is the seafood. The octopus is a must try. Milos really does deliver in every location I've been. Miami,Vegas and NYC.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
