It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first Estiatorio Milos on Park Avenue, Montreal. The reason seemed obvious to him: the need to elevate the sophistication of Greek cuisine abroad far away from its stereotyped forklorization. 'I wanted to change what people thought about Greek cuisine, make sure it's being appreciated and awarded with its rightful place on an international level!' As a small restaurant, Milos gained the trust of the Montrealers in no time. The menu being always simple and impeccably fresh, drew the attention of the media and food critics from around the world. NY Post has triumphly started that 'Milos fish could only be fresher if it swam to your plate!' What was the secret that made Milos stand out? Its focus in finding the purest Mediterranean products and cooking with the freshest ingredients.Through 35 years of intensive research, we have managed to build lasting relationships with growers and small-scale fisheries at the shores of Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and Portugal, flying in our fish and seafood daily by plane! Milos has since then taken the world by strom and opened in 1997 in NYC, in 2004 in Athens,in 2010 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas and in 2012 in Miami Beach and in 2015 in London! We invite you to live the Milos experience and celebrate with us our 35th year anniversary!

More of a New York experience than a Greek one...

We've eaten at this restaurant several times -- it's very noisy, busy and bustling. It's not like any restaurant we've experienced in Greece, but the food is good and the service attentive. The tab will be quite pricy--for example $32 for a traditional Greek salad!!!! If you are into people... read more

This is a marvellous restaurant, and it's always full, which says something. Noisy, crowded and expensive, but with some of the best Greek and mediterranean food you'll find anywhere. If you choose your fish from the iced display be careful, as you won't know what the bill will be until it arrives. I had the Greek salad, with heavenly tomatoes,... More

Milos is quite possibly the best Greek restaurant in Manhattan. Upon arriving, the fresh fish that is brought in daily from the Mediterranean is on display and a sight to behold. While, not truly authentic Greek, its more high end Greek, this cuisine is truly remarkable. I always tend to get the fresh fish of the day and have never... More

Our meal at Milos was light, fresh and delicious. The shrimp were huge (and served on a giant plate, make a lasting impression in the presentation dept.) The fish, John Dory, which my husband picked out from a fish market type stand in the back, was perfectly prepared with a touch of butter caper sauce. It served two. Our salad... More

I wish I had read the reviews in advance so I could have focused on prix fix options, but with business partners I hate to appear to be trying to economize. Really enjoyed the Milos Special and grilled octopus appetizers, as usual, and the quality white wine selections. Just had to order a whole fish (Loupe de Mer) to share... More

This is a great find, and a place where you can get a meal at almost any level of sophistication (and price). Seafood is all about the ingredients - if it is super fresh, and cooked with care, even simple dishes turn out superb. And that is what this restaurant does. The seafood is from all over the word, is... More

Very busy restaurant and pre theater bar crowded with "suits"..........but bar servers found me a spot. Love the grilled octopus - large portion. Greek food taken to gourmet level. Everything on menu delightful. A must go. Very close to City Center.

Had a very good meal here with my husband and a couple of friends, the fish and seafood are as fresh as can be, the tastes are simple but excellent. The atmosphere was nice and chic, however a bit aloof for me.

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
