Description: It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first...
It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first Estiatorio Milos on Park Avenue, Montreal. The reason seemed obvious to him: the need to elevate the sophistication of Greek cuisine abroad far away from its stereotyped forklorization. 'I wanted to change what people thought about Greek cuisine, make sure it's being appreciated and awarded with its rightful place on an international level!' As a small restaurant, Milos gained the trust of the Montrealers in no time. The menu being always simple and impeccably fresh, drew the attention of the media and food critics from around the world. NY Post has triumphly started that 'Milos fish could only be fresher if it swam to your plate!' What was the secret that made Milos stand out? Its focus in finding the purest Mediterranean products and cooking with the freshest ingredients.Through 35 years of intensive research, we have managed to build lasting relationships with growers and small-scale fisheries at the shores of Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and Portugal, flying in our fish and seafood daily by plane! Milos has since then taken the world by strom and opened in 1997 in NYC, in 2004 in Athens,in 2010 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas and in 2012 in Miami Beach and in 2015 in London! We invite you to live the Milos experience and celebrate with us our 35th year anniversary!

Food & Service Great once passed the reservations and arrival rudeness

The reservations folks are indifferent at best and at times rude. When we arrived we were treated poorly and figured it would be the last time we ate at Mylos -- a long-time favorite. The restaurant wasn't full, so the off-putting reservation and arrival system must be having an impact. Once... read more

Compared with their Miami outpost the NY Milos is much less inferior in service, decor and ambiance. Although the food could seem the same here the poor quality of service makes the experience very disapointing.

We decided rather late to try this restaurant which had recently been favorably reviewed in the same NYT review as Limani, where we had dined two days earlier. We could only reserve for 5:00 PM on a Friday, and we decided to do this and skip lunch, so we were hungry. When we arrived a few minutes early the restaurant... More

I went alone and had diner at the bar. Place seems very popular hence very crowded and noisy. At least on the menu provided to me there was little choice.

An attractive place near many theatres. If you love fish this is the place to eat it. Large display of many fish out on the restaurant floor. You can also watch the chefs in the kitchen prepare the food. The restaurant is large but on a Tuesday night was very crowded. Do make a res. Two of us chose the... More

This is a lively, vibrant New York seafood destination and is heavily used by business diners. My only complaint (but a serious one) is that I watched the front of house staff great two 'suits', then confer behind the desk, point straight at me (not clever), then usher the suits through. A minute later we were apologised too that our... More

I must definitely be in the minority in my opinion of this place as it was jam packed with customers on a Wednesday night. Things didn't start well as we waited 30 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Even for NYC, I think the prices are out of proportion to both the service and the quality of food.... More

Estiatorio Milos has such a great Trip Advisor rating we thought it would be excellent. It was not. Not that it was bad. That would be completely unfair. My wife's crab cake was very good. My lamb chops were fine. Our salads (romaine for me and Greek tomato for her) were also good. My scallops appetizer were ordinary--nothing special, as... More

Our "farewell to NYC" was made ever so delightful by enjoying an elegant dinner at MIlos with best friends. Ambiance, service and food were excellent!

We were at the Restaurant late one night and ordered off their pre and post theater menu. Even though the server attempted to dissuade us ,with the self serving comment, that the items are very small, we ordered anyway. Boy, was he wrong. Their greek salad was out of sight. My fish was wonderful. My wife enjoyed her lamb chops, even though... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
