Cafe Edison has a limited menu unless you want a deli style sandwich. The menu had a decent variety of sandwiches listed under "Sandwich Bar". I had a tuna club that had a layer of tuna and a layer of sliced hard boiled egg with lettuce and tomato. It included a little plastic cup of Cole slaw. My sandwich was... More

Lovely people run this Cafe and I got everything I wanted, even a gorgeous big cup of tea, breakfast was scrummy and the glazed doughnuts were massive and to die for. I stayed at the Edison so was really handy.

I loved this little cafe. The staff were helpful, service was excellent and very fast, prices were reasonable. The coffee was great. Always full of locals which is an indication of quality.

Service is brisk and you are encouraged not to linger. It is a place to eat and go; and there are many people waiting in line to come in. As soon as you are almost finished, the service staff brings you your check with 15% tip added in already, and you pay at the cashier. Cash transactions only. No credit... More

It seems that the waitresses really hated their jobs, something is definitely wrong about this place. They all looked very sad and did not seem to care if the guests was satisfied with their food or not. The unproffesional impression was also supported by the fact that they only accepted cash payment, and no credit/debit card!

We had breakfast there on 3 occasions with varying success. Most of the staff are charming and efficient, but they seem to be let down by a very rude manager/cashier. The food was great (banana and walnut pancakes) and awful (spanish omelette).

This is one of the best places to grab a bite to eat. The food is always very good and my family and I love the staff. It's typical "New York" service :) But we've been there enough times that we've gotten to know the servers and they are really nice and friendly. We've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at... More

The wait staff are the only saving grace here. The restaurant NYC rating was under review when we were here and our breakfast was only so so. Cash only as well.

We stayed at the Edison hotel and found this cafe so convenient for our breakfasts. The service was good, the food was good and the pricing was fair. A good spot for breakfast in the centre of Manhattan.

This is a very old Times Square staple. Great fried fish and burgers. Great sour pickles and hard to find Jewish dishes. Give it a try.
