Greece in NYC

Each time, I'm back in NYC, it's always a pleasure to have either lunch or dinner at this place. I discovered the restaurant in the 90's. Nice place !

Stopped in for a late lunch. Was suggested by someone and it is close to our hotel. My Greek husband was impressed with the moussaka. The souvlaki and gyro platters were good. Galatabouriko was different than what we're used to. Not too bad though. Pleasant quiet atmosphere. Not too pricey, but not inexpensive, either.

The octopus and eggplant appetizers were awesome. However, I observed the tables that sat after us being served in a timely manner as we kept waiting for our main dishes. The place was not full but busy, however I cannot excuse the time this folks took to serve us Come at your own risk, for sure do not be in... More

Pleasant, colorful place with authentic Greek dishes. Excellent seafood. Helpful, knowledgeable servers. In existence since 1980's. Outdoor patio in back.

The hotel was recommended by the concierge of our hotel as casual and moderately priced. We were surprised to find it less than casual and high-priced. But that the fish was inedible and the vegetables greasy and over-salted was not what we had expected to find here. The management did agree with us and did not charge for the fish... More

The food was fantastic! John our server was fabulous. Flaming Cheese, Moussaka, Watermelon Feta Salad, Sangria and much more were so delicious!

Nice little restaurant on 9th Avenue. The food is always great. I love the Inopikilia for 2. The staff is friendly. Can't wait to eat here again.

We took the advice some people had posted about sharing a selection of appetizers and not getting a main course which worked well. The tzatziki was not as garlicky as we had hoped but was very tasty and the homemade pita that it was served with really good, light and crisp and we got plenty of it. The horiatiki was... More

I've been here at least a dozen times over the past ten years. Service is always fast and friendly. They don't rush you out the door no matter how long you linger or what you've ordered. Cheap house wines and enough appetizers to keep you at your table for hours. Can get hot and noisy around the open kitchen.

Ate here with group of travellers. The food was good - some better like the Tzatziki some not so good like the tough beef kabobs. All served family style which was fine. Be forewarned that the one washroom is downstairs and may not be suitable for those with accessibility concerns.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
