Outstanding Greek Restaurant

Amazing food, friendly atmosphere. Pastitsio was delicious, and the Oktapodaki a wonderful dish, quite hard to find where we live. We will definitely be visiting here again!!

My husband and I really wanted some good Greek food. After some research we found Uncle Nick's on 9th Avenue which was close to our hotel on 8th Avenue. The food was delicious! My husband got the chopped sirloin with greek seasonings and I had the gyro. We both made great choices and will return to Uncle Nick's next time... More

I tend to rate quite conservatively. If it was "just average" I wouldn't keep going back; yet it doesn't quite rate the four stars I give to restaurants that I like very, very much. It's a large place and there's rarely a line. The price is right and the food is good, and they can handle a crowd if you've... More

From the reviews, I had expected heaven. What I got was a crowded table right by the door with the snow coming in every few moments. I got ok service but not the warm, stay as long as you like, service I read about in the reviews. The salad was odd for me and yet, even though we didn't eat... More

I had a friend recommend this restaurant although she had not been there in 10 years, she liked it that much and so did we! It was so relaxed and you really felt like you were hanging out in a secret family restaurant. The food was not a fancy presentation but the taste was beyond compare! The lemon potatoes were... For us, there are three don't miss appetizers on the menu: the scordalia (garlic potato dip); the saganaki-tiri (flaming cheese); and the papa ponai (fried meatballs and sausage). For main dishes the grilled red snapper is marvelous, a work of art to look at and delicious to eat. The kebob platters are always excellent. We got there at about 5:30... More

sea bass was great. Service is fast and friendly. You should book a table in advance as it is busy and there is no waiting area.

Do not let the road work on 9 th ave steer you away. Still great Greek food. Have been eating here for many years and still stands tall in food and in service. Suggestion: Shrimp Santorini. For shrimp lovers: to die for

We had dinner at Uncle Nick's and were very disappointed. Food quality is mediocre at best -- we tried all the house specialities, and found them all, without exception, bland, tasteless, overcooked, and overpriced. After hearing rave reviews, we thought the experience would be better. Seating is cramped in a loud and lackluster space with an open kitchen that reminded... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
