I feel bad writing this review, but the truth hurts sometimes. When I walked into this resturant, I should have just turned around and left. It was empty all but some loud regulars at the bar. The rest of the resturant was empty. I did end up staying, the French Onion Soup was more like a congealed jello and the... More

We stopped in for dinner after looking at other TA reviews. We had a 2-course dinner for $22 (range is 17-27 depending on entree). Both starters were solid: the French onion soup was great and the garden salad was good. The bread was delivered hot and was delicious. The wine is $9 a glass and comes in 4 flavors...no wine... Started over 60 years ago, this family run French restaurant is a real find in an area heavy with "tourist places". We had simple, but delicious meals at reasonable prices. Service was attentive, despite the crush of the pre-theater crowd.

What a fantastic dinner. Reservations were at 5 because we went to a 2 pm matinee (Just a Play, on the next block) and it was perfect. When we got there it was nice and quiet. We were allowed to order from the valentine's menu and the regular menu which was nice. Both menus were great and the prices were... More

Having lived in the city for years, when I look for a restaurant in the theater district, I don't want a tourist trap. I do want excellent food. Pergola Des Artistes provides just. A small bistro, through a small entry tucked into W46th Street, it has been there for over 50 years, though it was our first time. There was... More

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of Times Square. The food is excellent The owner greets diners, takes orders and answered all our questions. The french onion soup and lobster bisque is superb. Perhaps the only critique is the lighting. The place could benefit from some new lights to bring the atmosphere inline with the GREAT food.

My first visit, stopped in for dinner before a show. I found a place at the bar and ordered wine and dinner. The wine was a dry white, dinner was lobster bisque followed by seared scallops, everything was excellent. The crowd seemed to be regulars, giving the place a very comfortable feel. Service was fast and friendly. Next time I'll... More

We had pre-theater reservations here on Friday night. It was close to our hotel (Marriott Marquis) and we wanted a small little French bistro. First off, the price is very affordable. You get 2 courses for $19.95 - $27.95 (depends on your choice in protein). All of the food is pre-prepared and then under heat lamps or in hot pots... More

We've eaten at Pergola many times over the years, and have never been disappointed. It's a family-run place with French food in which they take great pride. I had great coq au vin, others had boeuf bourgignon, salmon. They have a two-course prix fixe meal, or a four-course one, both quite reasonably priced. The service is efficient and friendly, and... Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
