Great service ad good food

We just walked in off the street on a wet and wild night in NYC. A very knowledgable waiter greeted us and detailed what was special for the day. Oysters of the day were great and the service was good. About $100 plus tip for 6 oysters, salad and two mains with one drink each.

Came in for appetizers and drinks. Service was slow and absent. The food was pretty good, though. The chicken skewer was the favorite at our table. Skip the uninteresting California roll.

We had the prix fixe dinner before going to The Book of Mormon, as the Eugene O'Neill Theater is just around the corner, and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of both service and food. In addition, the space is quite nice and you get plenty of room. One more thing, the restrooms are very nice and clean and... More

Booked a last minute reservation for dinner before the theater. We looked at the menu on line and found a good variety to suit us. The specialties revolve around sushi, but there was plenty for salad eaters, meat eaters and everyone in between. Our server was excellent and asked us if we were going to the theater. She assured us... More

A solid go to place. Dining at Thalia for lunch is always a treat. Consistently good food. Burgers, Tuna, Salads oysters... all fresh and beautifully served. Wine and cocktails are generous and reasonably priced. Management went beyond what I expected when making a special request. Kudos to them. A keeper.

We read a write-up about Thalia being an iconic pre and post Broadway restaurant so we booked a late seating. It has a bit of a roadhouse feel to it unfortunately and the menu seems to want to be all things to all people - I'm not a big fan of adding a sushi counter to every restaurant. We were... More

Stopped in after seeing a Broadway show down the street with 2 vegetarians and 2 carnivores. Everyone found something to eat. They have small plates on the menu for late night that are just right in size to accompany drinks. Service was quick, atmosphere was vibrant and the noise level was low enough to carry on a conversation.

We enjoyed ourselves and while we couldn't get an early reservation we ate in the bar area and were served very quickly. Highly recommend this option if you can't get a real seat. Mozzarella appetizer very good and our dishes were prepared tasty.

Went there by recommendation from our hotel. The food arrived fast and was outstanding! fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. Best value! amazing deco, great atmosphere. the wine was amazing too! would definitely go there again. btw, we ordered ahi tuna appetizers (to die for!). I had salmon with roasted veggies as a main dish. My friend had home made... More

While wandering from Central Park back to Times Square we came across Thalia. There is bar menu and a restaurant menu that both sounded amazing. We sat for dinner in the restaurant and were well taken care of. My dinner of zucchini as pasta was perfect, a delicious blend of vegetable noodles with a smokey flavor and crisp almonds to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
