Great place for a beer

It was a warm day in New York and by the end of the afternoon I was eager for a beer. Walking on the 8th Ave I met Thalia and decided to have my beer there, what resulted as a good idea. Well decorated, good music, attentive waiters, and, a cold beer. I had two beers at last. Place that... read more

We went to Thalia for dinner and were seated after a five minute wait. We ordered the Gallito-Cornish Hen and the Braised Lamb Shank. The chicken was tasty and moist. The lamb was delicious and tender, although some parts were rather salty. Service was a little slow as the restaurant was full. Food was very good. I will definitely eat... More

We had a group of 12 people for lunch here. The service was excellent! Very accommodating to our every need. The food was well prepared & very tasty. the location is very well suited for activities in the Theatre District. I would definitely come back here without a group to give them a try.

Came here with friends in the city to see a matinee - it was the perfect pre-theater brunch. The $10 unlimited cocktail was well worth the price. We had terrific service and the ambiance was very nice. I would describe the food as average - fine, but not memorable.

Had the concierge book us for a brunch on Easter. He made reservations at Thalia for our family of five. The room is large and spacious and well-lit. The french toast was decadent. The pancakes were the best I have ever tasted. Would love to try their dinner next time we are in NY.

We came here in 2013 on a recommendation from the Box Office at the Winter Garden and had a nice lunch, so decided to try again but made reservations this time. Our reservation was for 12:30 but we got there at 12;15 and were immediately seated. We had a table in the back part of the restaurant which was much... More

Enjoyed dinner at Thalia. Good service. Good atmosphere and great food. Creative take on well known dishes. My wife and I enjoyed it. We read all the great reviews and confirmed it is a go to place before or after the show in NYC.

We popped in here after I had popped the question for a celebratory glass of champagne. The staff were incredibly friendly and insisted on bringing us a pudding as way of congratulations for free. Absolutely outstanding service and a lovely little place.

Made the mistake of not making reservations before our show. The staff at Thalia were kind, accommodating and quick to find us a table. A nice regular menu and a pre-theatre price-fix selection, which we choose. Food was well prepared, hot and served quickly. Waiter (Alex) was friendly and helpful. We would go there again for the variety, selection and... More

Wonderful place to head to after theatre! It closes late and has really good food. Ambience here is also really good. We stumbled upon this place by chance(and luck). We had the oyster promotion ($1/oyster-only available after 11pm if I am not mistaken), sushi which was fabulous as well as the mushroom ravioli which was good as well. Service was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
