Nice place for drinks and appetizers

Visited here on July 14 for appetizers and drinks. Service was quick and gracious. Appetizer prices were a bit high but delicious. Enjoyed.

Whenever I travel to NYC, I make it a point to have dinner at least once at Thalia. I try something different every time I go there, and I am never disappointed. They always ask if I am attending the theatre (and I usually am) and always provide service in a timely manner. Great food, great drinks, great service--Thalia is... More

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, just down the street, and decided to visit this restaurant for their happy-hour specials (3:30-6:00). On our first visit, we ordered the chicken skewers (fabulous) and the pizza-appetizer (large and delicious). The drink list was also wonderful. We enjoyed it so much, we returned later in the week and tried the calamari.... More

Enjoyed this place so much. My favorite meal was their skate fish. OMG it was the best fish entree I have ever had. Great service and the staff is very attentive. Check them out.

Thalia is to me the best place to eat sushi: the best one are the angry ebi roll. everyone I recommended the restaurant to thanked me. I have travelled to many places and tried many sushi places but thalia is by far the best one. Although they do not specialize in sushi, their chef is talented and makes great rolls.... More

Located in the theater district, Thalia has a unique blend of an old-world look (large theater posters advertising broadway shows of a long gone era) in a contemporary setting. The menu is American with a European touch, including braised short ribs, salmon and my choice, bacon wrapped pork tenderloins. The portions are big, the service is attentive, and they know... More

We chose this restaurant because it was across the street from the theatre which we attanded after dinner. The place was crowded but service was quick enough; the food was delicious and beautifully presented on the decorated plate; the wine was perfect. All this for about $35.00 per person in The Big Apple.

The outside does not reflect what you'll find inside. The oysters are good as an appetizer and if you like sushi you have to have the Angry Ebi Sushi. It is a little hot but slightly sweet taste. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in town

We were looking for somewhere to grab a bite before seeing the Rocky musical (that's a thing that exists for some reason) and after a passing a few average looking joints we settled on Thalia, despite it not looking like much from the exterior. We sat at the bar, ate some of the best, freshly-prepared sushi I've ever eaten and... More

Drinks and everything else fairly expensive. But the Oysters are $1 each during Happy Hour and there's no limit on the number you can eat. I recommend this place if for no other reason.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
