Description: Angus' Cafe Bistro is a one hundred-sixty seat, full-service eatery located in the heart of New York City's bustling Times Square. Given its proximity to several Broadway theaters, the pre-show dinner seating is the restaurant's busiest, but before or after is the time to take advantage of the restaurant's charm for either a relaxing lunch or dinner without the pressure of an impending curtain. Additionally, the restaurant offers several attractive features including a bargain prix fixe lunch menu, an irresistible late night snack menu and the house specialty: a porterhouse steak for two which includes unlimited wine by the glass if you order it after 8pm. Brunch is served all weekend long and private parties/special events of all shapes and sizes are willingly and expertly accommodated.

We stopped in after Mama Mia which was just 2 minutes away, a great little place. It is not fancy but I liked the atmosphere. The food was good and reasonably priced and our waiter was very attentive. My only complaint is the bathroom could use a good scrub and some TLC. All in all, worth a visit.

The calamari appetizer was cooked to perfection with a nice dipping sauce almost like a Hollandaise. The chicken casserole special was savory with nice red peppers and dark meat chicken in a tomato sauce. The only problem was including gristle and veins in the stew. It was topped with crunchy mashed potatoes. The wine list was very good with a... More

This used to be a hot spot, but it was pretty empty when we were there. The service was friendly, the food was good, everything was just good--but nothing extraordinary. It's overpriced, like most places in the Theater District, but you can't beat the location. The food, while tasty, wasn't something I would want to have again soon. Overall, it's... More

We stopped at Angus McIndoe for beer and burgers before we went to Bullets Over Broadway at the theater next door. The beer was cold and cheap by New York standards. The char-grilled hamburgers were tasty, cooked to our wishes, and were served with fries, lettuce, tomato and onion. They were $14 for the plain hamburger; $2 more for a... More

If you are looking for a pre-show meal, Angus is the place. It's steps from Times Square but away from the hordes of people. The front of the restaurant is open to the street and facing Phantom of the Opera. We chose the t-bone for two specialty, and it didn't disappoint. It's a lovely french bistro.

Went two weeks ago. I ordered a gin and tonic and, after sending it back twice, I went to the bar and had to instruct the bartender how to make it. The food was tasteless and overpriced, even for New York. The food from the street vendors was better. Would never go back.

We enjoyed the efficiency, quick service and modest portions of Angus' pre-theatre, one-plate meal... a good, tasty value (for NYC) at $19. Also good wine/beer choices fairly priced. Fuller meal offerings aplenty, but our time and appetites were limited. Perfect location next to "Bullets over Broadway" theater, saved us standing in rain that evening. We'll return on another trip to... More

Went last Saturday evening before an 8 pm show. Had reservations for 6 pm for four people. We were greeted and seated by very friendly staff and they seated us even though we were waiting for someone in our party to arrive. The place was very busy but our server came right over and offered to bring drinks and gave... More

We had a reservation here before seeing our broadway show. The server was charming and knowledgeable and seemed to care about his tables. We were promptly seated and handed menus with a variety of homecooked, grilled and greasy foods. I asked if he had something light and he recommended a grilled three cheese and ham sandwich! LOL. I had to... More

We stopped here after seeing Rock of Ages down the road. The Boddingtons pump on the bar caught my eye initially and I was drawn in. My wife and I had the Du Post late night supper menu which comprised of a small salad, a mini cheeseburger, fries and a small dessert. This was perfectly adequate for a late supper.... More
