Sit next to a window for great people-watching!

Dinner: skirt steak entree - excellent, the accompanying fries were perfectly cooked. Seared duck breast not quite as successful: cooked to order - but the fat was not seared (and really inedible), the accompanying sweet potato puree had a strangely too-sweet undertone that reminded me of canned... read more

Recommended by hotel concierge, we found Pigalle SUPER underwhelming and overrated. It was iHop quality with NYC prices. Doubt we'll ever go there again. Our waiter was nice though. Get there early.

We had matinee thestre tickets and saw a lot of people having lunch at Pigalle. We decided to try it and we were very pleased. We shared a smoked salmon club sandwich and salad. It was more than enough and very fresh and tasty. I would recommend the restaurant to all. The service was very good and they moved us... More

Seared duck breast not quite as successful: cooked to order - but the fat was not seared (and really inedible), the accompanying sweet potato puree had a strangely too-sweet undertone that reminded me of canned tomato soup. The crunchy filberts provided a nice touch however. Good service, great... More

This place is well located and convenient to your hotel if you are in the area. Food is good, its a place to stop specially for brunches and breakfast if you do not feel like walking the entire city. Service was decent.

Authentic classic rustic French bistro menu with highly professional staff and great prices for NYC on food and wine. Had the classic escargot and steak au poivre along with a great bottle of 2004 st Emilion. The waitress immediately offered to decant the bottle which was good because it was a little tight freshly poured and needed breathing. Agree with... More

Since staying next door at HGI, we three decided to give it a try. Ordered Steak Au Poivre cooked medium. Arrived nearly well done and tough. Sent it back. Waiter (Vicente) seemed annoyed to have to even wait on us. Brought out another plate. Second steak was medium, but again very tough. Noisy. Would not return...would not recommend.

The food was not a patch on the decor. Mostly stodge. We´ve never seen such huge plates being served up. Americans have got big appetites.

From reviews I thought it would be better. We had brunch there which was a very small limited menu, so from the reviews I thought I would try breakfast. Had eggs benedict which was good but not outstanding. The home fries looked great but was full of onions and they said they could not make it without them so I... More

Great restaurant on 48th and 8th Avenue. Nice atmosphere without being stuffy and pretentious. Good food: the hanger steak was exceptionally good accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables. Specials come with a dessert but they will substitiute from the regular dessert menu if you ask. Just enough before a Broadway show. Good wine selection. Be sure to check the daily specials.... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
