The Big Easy in The Big Apple

The Delta Grill we found by simply walking south on 9 th ave after a day at MOMA. We just didn't want to do another Thai place, and a plain old bar wasn't going to cut it. The place was real nice with Big Easy décor, and a menu for you to savor some New Orleans style cuisine.

I had the gumbo and the jambalaya, two staples of Cajun style cooking. No salt and no heat. I was truly surprised at how bland the food was. On the plus side, the service was great and the prices quite low. But the food lacked any real reason be on the plate.

Second time visiting this restaurant - and the experience was excellent yet again. Very tasty food, easy & cheerful staff and a laid-back ambience. Jamabalaya wontons were lovely and the BBQ beef brisket was the most tender piece of meat I've had for a long time. Can't fault it!

If you are looking for New Orleans style food in New York then eat here. Good service and ample amounts in a semi New Orleans atmosphere. The food po-boy and gumbo was good and I felt that we could have split the po-boy given the amount served.

I have walked by this place a number of times and it always looked like a place I would like to try. We finally got a chance to go in the other night. It certainly isn't anything fancy, just a good neighborhood eatery with a New Orleans flavor. Friendly, good service adds to the place. We shared the Bourbon Brisket... More

Enjoyed Sunday brunch here. Service was pleasant and attentive; food was as described, plentiful and tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy with grits and an egg on the side -- delivered as ordered. Companions had the omelet wrapped in a hash browns, more or less and a special of the day -- fried chicken and waffles. Everything was just... More

Very southern, red neck feel. Enjoyed the shrimp estoufee even though I was craving spicy, nothing really satisfied that crave. My BF tried the Mufalatta which was huge and worth the price every bit.

Almost all the Louisiana's typical food: red beans and rice, fried catfish, po'boys, alligator... I tried the Bayou Burger and the meat was really tasty!

Looking for place to eat as we walked around town. Looked interesting and TA ratings pretty good. Food was ok but not overwhelming, especially for the price. Did notches for the spicy cole slaw. Catfish was tasty but not exceptional. Was hoping for better

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
