A Cajun Break

We were walking down the street looking for a place to have lunch and spotted the Delta. The exterior doesn't exactly draw you in. We checked the menu and saw the Muffaletta sandwich and we were in. The door was just being opened. We stepped out of the traffic and construction and noise and... read more

I have reviewed this restaurant several times before, and it continues to be excellent. Wonderful tasty Cajun food in a relaxed setting - and huge portions - with excellent value. If I could eat here every night, I probably would...

I had the 1/2 Shrimp and 1/2 oyster po boy a side order of red beans and rice and a beer. Beer was delicious...not much else good to say. The oysters and shrimp were deep fried as usual, however, they were very mushy. The flavor was ok...but mushy texture was very off putting. The red beans and rice was pretty... More

What a great restaurant, the inside makes you feel like you are in a shack in the back swamps of New Orleans. The food here is so fantastic. I am not sure where to start but I have come here a couple of times recently, once wasn't enough. Ask if there is anything special the chef is making because some... More

We were trying to please 3 different pallets and returned to the Delta Grill where my daughter ordered chicken fried steak, my friend ordered the meat loaf, and I had the crawfish pasta special. We ate till we were full...no room for dessert. Price to portion and quality is good for NYC. Enjoy!

a friend asked us a couple of years ago what was our favorite restaurant in manhattan. we didn't think too long and answered: the delta. you have to know we live in antwerp, belgium, and we are quite spoiled when it comes to food. we got back to the delta yesterday and we weren't disappointed. the jambalaya was perfect, and... We have been to The Delta Grill a number of times and have loved it. When I lived in the south I really liked biscuits with gravy. These people in the midst of Manhattan bring north what fine southern cooking is all about. We can recommend the breakfasts, Po' Boys, fried chicken and anything with a delicious flaky biscuit, especially... More

had the Louisiana gumbo, which was food, a side of Mac and cheese which was a 5 out of 5. Service was excellent, I would recommend this to couples or family for some Cajun flavour. Not disappointed in this Hell's Kitchen restaurant.

I dig the atmosphere of this place. I also love the New York spin on southern style food. I suggest the jambalaya mac and cheese and the hush puppies. Make sure you try one of the awesome Abita brews. I would say the service is pretty average. Not terrible, but nothing special.

While visiting NY city we found this great place. Our table of five was seated promptly and we had drinks in just a few minutes. The food was great as were the prices. The waitstaff were always checking on us, we stayed a long time but were never pressured to leave.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
