Lonely But Likable

I stopped in Pietrasanta on a cold January night - looking for warmth, pasta and a comfortable place to read my book (on an iPad). At 7:00, the restaurant was empty. The host suggested that perhaps plays were starting earlier that evening; to mitigate the unease I agreed and chose my place to sit... read more

True European atmosphere. They don't bother you while you eat. They don't rush you. They didn't come to ask what we wanted until our menus were closed. Very relaxing and delicious food.

There ar many Itaian and Italian American restaurants in New Yor, so we expwect quality. The service was not helpful, and the staff were apparently rushed even though there were empty tables, The listed Sauvignon Blanc was not a favorite, so I ordered the unnamed house SB. It was from a very typical California bulk bottling, a Sebastiani second label. Not... More

We passed this restaurant on our way to a Matinee show & thought we might stop in afterwards. Very glad we did. Cozy atmosphere with excellent service. The food was excellent and attractively presented. Caesar salad, Beet/goat cheese salad, Mushroom stuffed pasta (similar to ravioli), and Angel Hair pasta with vegetables were all terrific. They also have a good selection... More

Great food. Great service. Great people. We really enjoyed this place. We ate here before a broadway show and were so impressed, we came back the next evening after the show. Very nice portions at reasonable prices. Mmmmmm.

Stumbled upon this restaurant in 1996 during one of my 1st visits to NYC. Try to revisit this restaurant whenever I am back in town. It's near the theatre district without being overwhelmed by the Broadway crowds. Was just there on Sept 29th & it was as wonderful as I have come to expect & upon which I can rely.... More

We stopped here for an early dinner and weren't disappointed. We've gone to their sister restaurant, Rachel's, for years and really enjoy it. We ordered 2 personal pizzas with a side salad and the crab cakes dinner. All were very good. However we thought the 2 little crab cakes, although delicious, were overpriced at $22. Service was excellent, so we'll... More

This is was a very good choice for a post theater dinner. The service was excellent, fast and efficient. The waiter recommended their house chianti that was not outrageous in price and tasted very good. All of us had a pasta dish and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would return given the opportunity.

This is a small, little Italian restaurant in the theatre district. They have a pre-show dinner meal that's not advertised well, but its a great bargain. Make sure you ask to see it since it shows online but was not included with the menu. It was a beautiful evening and they had the doors open so the fresh air could... More
