Met Chef Florian when we checked into the Iroquois Hotel. Full of energy, he explained that night would be the last for the dinner menu and the next night would start the Spring menu and his staff were sampling the dishes at that moment. So we ate there twice. First night I had the beef Wellington--coated informs gras and wrapped... More

Four of us recently dined pre-theatre, 4 different entrees (2 fish, 1 beef, 1 vegetarian), all bad, all tasted poor. Service was inattentive (2 entrees came 5 min later than the first 2) and not helpful. Expensive and not worth it, stay away

We were a family of four: husband, wife, and two daughters -- the youngest being 17. We opted for the epicurean tasting menu, hoping to broaden our 17 yo's palette. Plus, our 24 yo daughter had always wanted to experience the total package of wine pairings with chef's specialties. In short -- we were not disappointed. The meal was cleverly... More

I think this restaurant is best suited for business dinners, or dinners where you want to have a good meal in a quiet, dignified setting. The atmosphere is conservative, and the meals are well-prepared, if not exceptional. Our waiter was somewhat curt. Still, we were not rushed, and we appreciated the lack of loud noise that is often found in... More

My wife and I stayed at the Iroquois to celebrate our anniversary and, of course, ate at Triomphe. Staff helped us order the right bottle of wine to accompany our meal. Our salads were fresh and crisp. Both of us ordered the roast pheasant breast which was very tasty and moist. Baked Alaska provided the perfect, sweet, and spectacular end... More

Simple, classic French food. Good service. Quick. Cozy and comfortable. Not trendy, nor flash, but a pleasant experience.

We came for dinner to this restaurant to sample the Restaurant Week specials. The restaurant is small and intimate and the service impeccable. The appetizers, unusual for a bargain meal -- escargots and bison carpaccio -- were both delicious. The rest of the meal was also creative (arctic char in a brown butter sauce, marinated chicken, followed by baked Alaska,... More

My wife and I ate at Triomphe last night for a birthday celebration. I had read the reviews on-line and thought we would take a chance on eating dinner. I am glad I did. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
