An After Theatre Surprise!

Having just watched Helen Meurin in The Audience, we were on a high already as we walked the three blocks to the boutique Iroquois Hotel and the Triomphe Restaurant. It was nice to be invited by a client for lunch. The restaurant seems to be tagged on to the adjacent hotel which looked very nice. The "power lunch" three courses in 60 mins is a good idea and all for a reasonable price of $44. There are a few things that is best to know thought. Even though all... More

Once again, we were impressed by our meal here. A small dining room, but the service and food are exceptional. We ordered from the "pre-theatre" menu and I must say the selections were diverse and delicious. The acoustics of the room are not the best, so it can get rather loud depending on where you are seated. However, the professional... More

This place is outstanding. After 17 years in NYC, it's still a rare treat to find a restaurant with excellent food where (A) you don't have to scream to be heard, and (B) you don't have to pay an outrageous premium for that serenity. To be sure, Triomphe isn't inexpensive, but the cost in relation to the overall experience is... More

When staying at the fabled Algonquin Hotel with friends we decided to eat at the Triomphe restaurant just down the street. The Triomphe is a fine dining establishment, intimate and charming. I have since returned when in NYC. Quite simply, Triomphe is nothing short of a triumph! This is due to a professional staff and subdued dining ambiance, with accolades... More

Met Chef Florian when we checked into the Iroquois Hotel. Full of energy, he explained that night would be the last for the dinner menu and the next night would start the Spring menu and his staff were sampling the dishes at that moment. So we ate there twice. First night I had the beef Wellington--coated informs gras and wrapped... More

Four of us recently dined pre-theatre, 4 different entrees (2 fish, 1 beef, 1 vegetarian), all bad, all tasted poor. Service was inattentive (2 entrees came 5 min later than the first 2) and not helpful. Expensive and not worth it, stay away

We were a family of four: husband, wife, and two daughters -- the youngest being 17. We opted for the epicurean tasting menu, hoping to broaden our 17 yo's palette. Plus, our 24 yo daughter had always wanted to experience the total package of wine pairings with chef's specialties. In short -- we were not disappointed. The meal was cleverly... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
