I've been using Ben's pretty much since it opened it's doors and for the life of me I can't see understand why Peter Luger's continues to be held in such awe - I mean, it's in Brooklyn… In best NYC steakhouse fashion it ain't a place to go if one is on a budget but the giant cocktails, smooth as... We were very satisfied. In fact the week before we tried a "special" that they offered on "Restaurant Week" that listed many restaurants in NYC. We were not very happy so decided to give it another try. This time we ordered from the regular menu. Both meals were extraordinary. I had a rib steak cooked exactly the way I wanted... More

I was at a business dinner last week. I thought Peter Lugars had bad service. People say the waiters throw the steaks at you. Ben Bensons has them beat for the worst service. The staff was rude, impatient and aggressive in pushing food. When you needed something you had to wait. We had ask twice for a replacement knive, with... More

I have heard really awesome things about this place, unfortunately, I never got to experience this awesomeness for myself... My steak came out well-done even though I asked for medium-rare... It tasted like cardboard... Oh well... Hopefully this just happened to me!

The steaks are big and really great. But what makes this place awesome is the atmosphere and service. The waiters are really funny and friendly. And most of them are probably 70+ but they are way cooler than people half their age. Including me ;)

My wife and I have eaten at Ben Benson's every year on our annual visit to NYC during the Xmas holidays as well as every other well known steak house in NYC and have always found Ben Benson's to far exceed those other steak houses with their excellent service, unbelievable steaks, and incredible Martinis. It's sort of hidden away near... More

This is the real deal when it comes to steak. Everything is superb. You better be seriously hungry or don't go. The waiters are fun and it is an experience that should not be missed

I went here only once, accompanying out-of-town friends leading the way. Fine-enough cocktails & steaks, delicious spinach & other traditional accompaniments. Just, I wasn't Wowed; so I'd only re-visit if/when its location helped. If you've got the time & initiative to do better, there're better steakhouses within cab/subway reach.

you can have Peter Lugers, Ben Bensons out runs with great pleasant service without the attitude and fantastic food a delight for an evening to dine with a friendly feeling. Service is fast but not so fast you feel you have to eat and run you actually feel pamper and fully fed.
