Forgot to review this one, so I'm writing now! I had a special lunch course a few months ago at a lunch meeting. The course included salad, tempura, sushi & dessert. Sushi quality was such mediocre and disappointing:( As for the types of fish, they offered too many white fish (just for my preference, would rather have more variety). However,... More

I discovered this restaurant walking down the street. It is a classy restaurant, with the best sushi I have ever had. The fish just melts in the mouth. A place to go if you love sushi.

I've been here twice for lunch recently, both times ordering the omikase (chef's choice). The freshness and variety were both very good. It isn't cheap either, and it seems to me as though the sum-total was a bit less than one would otherwise expect; both times I found myself ordering quite a few additional pieces of sushi. I think if... More

I was very disappointed. Our waiter seemed aggravated that we would bother to ask questions about the menu. The sushi was ok, but everything was way overpriced. We tried the duck sushi, summer roll and eel roll. One in our party was vegetarian and had a $25 platter that was nothing more than a pat of rice with asparagus wrapped... More

I researched good spots in the theater district for a nice light bite before catching a show with my daughter en route to taking her to college. It came as no surprise that Sushi Zen is on the top ten Zagat list for best Midtown restaurants in the neighborhood. We rushed from out hotel on West 55th to get there... More

Decided to compare sushi on the East Coast with that available on the West Coast. Sushi Zen is an upscale restaurant with a good selection of fresh sushi and sashimi. Portions are reasonable, if more expensive than the West Coast. However, the ambience was much more pleasing than the standard little places that are all over the place back home.... More

We arrived on the 44' street to the number 108 at the 7 o'clock. Usually it's Americans' dinner time but none else was in the restaurant in that moment. The nice waitress gave us a table in a little room . The list's prices was a little bit higer than the other NY sushi restaurants but not too much .... More

What a wonderful meal at the sushi counter. We got to watch the chefs preparing the sushi! What artistry! Chef Suzuki loves his restaurant and what they do. He educated us about blowfish, different kinds of sushi fish etc happily. He gets his fish fresh daily from Japan. We started with Miso soups- there are several different kinds and a... More
