Extremely fresh Sushi beautifully presented. The fresh corn tempura was unusual and excellent. The food wasn't cheap but the hot sake was.

Hopped over to Sushi Zen after the conference before catching a show. Although I was seated immediately, it was quite some time (by New York standards) before I was waited on, and allowed to order, and then once the food arrived, I was left to my own devises (read, no refills offered on drinks, no one checked on the sushi... Super fresh well selected fish. Great service. Relaxed and mellow atmosphere. Never had fish so tasty, delicate and classy.

If you are planning to attend a Broadway show or just cruising Times Square, Sushi Zen is a fabulous place to be. Pre or post Theatre, you and your date will be so impressed with the service and quality this establishment produces. We specifically asked to be seated at the sushi bar so we can sea the art of sushi... More

We went here before going to the theater. The sushi was good but the menu is rather limited, perhaps because the focus is on more traditional sushi. If you want some of the more Americanized rolls, you won't really find them here. Also, no other types of Japanese food, so no tempura or bento boxes, just sushi.

Ever since I started eating sushi at Tsukiji market in Tokyo Japan (absolutely fresh fish at its best!), I have not been able to find anything close. Sushi zen was able to offer me the comforting sweetness of what I would expect from good sushi. We paid 100+ for two premium sushi sets and a miso-eggplant appetizer. The staff seemed... More

We usually order Omakase when going to restaurants new to us. This Omakase was sashimi, sushi and an appetizer between. There was a lovely vegetable pre dinner serving. The sashimi was fresh and fabulous and the presentation beautiful . A mackerel and onion tasting was served in a lovely basket and there was a steamed fish in the banana leaf!... More

While not a huge expert on Japanese food I have always enjoyed my visits to this conveniently located (6th Avenue and 44th Street) Manhattan restaurant; I would say that it is as authentic as it can be outside Japan itself, with attentive staff, a pleasant atmosphere and excellent sushi and sashimi. A decent meal for two with drinks about $100,... More

Really enjoyed the set menu, sea urchin is however an acquired taste. Service was very good and we had a great time.

Nice atmosphere, all we tried was excellent and hyper fresh. Real sushi where the piece of fish is big and tasteful compared to the rice. Sashimi off the same quality. Stoic service, but that has also it's charm. Tip, reserve a table after theatre started...much more relaxing
