We just happened to walk by Molyvos on the way to the theater one night and decided to stop in for a quick drink and a snack. The attentive bartender gave me a great wine recommendation to pair with our eggpplant dip and grilled squid (charred, smoky, and delicious). This was a nice treat for us because it seems all... more

This was our second visit a year later, and the food is still excellent with classy service and reasonable prices for NYC. Lamb shank is huge and tender, the beef short-ribs had a wonderful sauce and were equally tender, the sardine entree was generous. Don't pass up the honey-vanilla ice cream for dessert! more

Really bad customer service. Staff with an attitude. Food is good but that's not enough! more

Our party had dinner at Molyvos recently. We were hoping for something outstanding but, sadly, outstanding it was not (except perhaps in the "overpriced, undersized and overrated" category). They also do not offer wines by the bottle, instead forcing diners to order by the glass and thereby increasing their profit margins. This is a cheap move in an already overpriced... more

My husband and I dined at Molyvos last weekend and were amazed by the food and service. The space is nice with open floor-to-ceiling windows upfront, giving the place an open feel. Shared the grilled octopus and it was some of the best we've had. Just wonderful. I had the lamb shank for dinner and it was melt-in-your-mouth and the... more

I went to Molyvos with my mom and a friend for lunch. They both had the prix-fixe lunch, an excellent bargain, since they got their choice of an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert for $25. My mother especially loved the almond and watercress soup, one of the appetizer options. I had a vegan vegetable plate (not on the menu,... more

With the possible exception of Milos in Montreal, this is the best Greek food we’ve had in North America. We picked Molyvos for dinner tonight because we had spent about a week in Molyvos, Lesbos a few years ago, and because of the fine reviews. The menu is composed of classic Greek dishes but each is done with such skill... more

I had the pleasure to eat a couple of times in Molyvos when on visit in New York, and the restaurant never disappoints me, staff is attentive and the food is fine, there are some spots in the restaurant where the airco makes it a rather chilly experience, this should be looked into, but no other remarks to make about... more

Decent Greek food. Seems more pre-theater than night out but the food was very good. more

Sadly...nothing remotely Mezze was on their Restaurant Week Menu (3 courses for $35), a menu which should, in my mind, showcase what the restaurant has to offer to draw you back again after restaurant week to spend more of your hard-earned money. Molyvos fell short... the Lentil Soup was tasty. It came with a Lagana bread, toasted and some olive... more
